Neighborhood Tour in Small-Town Japan πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ | Daily Life with My Baby in Yaizu

hi friends today I’m bringing you with me for a little walk around my neighborhood here in Yizu it’s a quiet place but I really love the small simple things here like the parks beach shops and even the vending machines just 5 minutes from my house is a small grocery store that’s been around longer than most of the buildings here it’s the kind of place you wouldn’t notice unless you were walking slowly like I usually do this shop has been here for over 50 years run by an elderly Japanese couple it’s not a big supermarket it’s tiny quiet and filled with everyday things i imagine they’ve seen generations of families come and go and somehow they’re still here keeping the heart of the neighborhood alive it’s just a small stop but it always reminds me how different life is here so quiet so steady there is also a nearby family mart it’s really hot today so we thought of buying a cold drink they have everything onigiri bento boxes and drinks for every mood and the best part you can even pay bills or print documents here it’s like a mini office and pantry in one even on my busiest days I know Family Mart has my back and this is one of my favorite little spots a nearby coffee shop just a few minutes from my home it’s quiet cozy and perfect for when I need a short break from teaching cleaning or just mom life okay I couldn’t resist i got myself a papico it’s one of my favorite quick treats cold creamy and super satisfying it brings back so many memories of my first summer in Japan let’s keep walking another short walk from my house there’s this small peaceful temple i come here sometimes to pause especially when life gets a little too loud it’s not a famous tourist spot but I’ve noticed more and more foreigners visiting lately now this might look like just a messy yard but it actually belongs to my neighbor and he’s kind of a local legend he demolishes old houses mostly the really old ones no one wants anymore and then collects the usable parts wood tiles windows even broken furniture when I passed by today I saw the sweet obachans looking through the yard they told my neighbor they were looking for some old plates maybe to reuse but maybe just because they like the pattern even in what looks like a messy pile there’s treasure for someone and here in this quiet neighborhood it feels like everyone finds what they need in their own way while my daughter is napping it’s time for me and my mom to have a little snack this is our quiet little break we usually bring sambbe fruit or something cold to drink it’s one of those rare calm moments where we just sit talk and enjoy the breeze we come here almost every day my daughter absolutely loves it the water the sand it’s become a big part of her childhood sometimes my mom comes with us too we talk we rest and just watch her play it’s slow living in the best way right now I’m just waiting for my daughter to wake up we’re going to play in the water this is the beach here in Yizu it’s not crowded it’s not flashy but it has everything we need there is a hiking trail in this mountain you can actually see Mount Fuji from the top and it is just few minutes from my [Music] house we saw this really cute dog by the beach [Music] 16 years wow [Music] grandma grandma [Music] i really enjoyed talking to this Japanese couple ah 10 10 months 10 months hello say hello to them yeah I’m tall dana tall yeah that’s why she’s tall 3.6 yeah three yes yeah yeah yeah she’s my mom she’s only 10 months old but the beach is already her favorite place she loves the feeling of the water everything is new to her sometimes she squeals sometimes she just stares quietly at the waves watching her explore makes me slow down and see things like it’s the first time too these tiny moments I know they’ll pass quickly but today we played in the water and that was enough after all the fun it’s time to go home we’re all tired but happy [Music] we saw a few abachans on the way just out chatting like they always do one of my favorite things about walking around with my daughter is how she waves hi to everybody it could be an obachan watering her flowers a man on a bike or someone walking their dog she waves they smile and suddenly everyone’s day feels a little brighter she doesn’t know it yet but her little wave is already spreading happiness just by being her sweet friendly self we got thirsty from our little walk so we bought drinks from the vending machine it’s everywhere here in the neighborhood so it’s very convenient to just buy a cold drink on a hot day thanks for spending the day with us here in Yizu it’s quiet simple but these little everyday moments mean so much whether it’s water play warm smiles from obachans or a baby waving at strangers it’s all part of our life here see you in the next vlog matan bye [Music]

Welcome to a peaceful day in Yaizu, Shizuoka πŸƒ
In this vlog, I’ll take you on a slow and simple neighborhood tour β€” the kind of everyday Japan you don’t usually see in travel videos.

We walk to the beach, pass by local spots like a 50-year-old grocery store run by an elderly couple, a small Family Mart, a cozy coffee shop, and even meet some obachans (Japanese grandmas) along the way. My 10-month-old daughter says hi to everyone, and it always brings smiles.

You’ll also see:
– A neighborhood temple that many foreigners visit
– A neighbor who builds things from old house scraps
– Our daily beach stop where my baby plays in the water
– Quiet streets, friendly faces, and snack time with my mom

🍼 It’s a small-town Japan life β€” slow, warm, and filled with tiny joys.

Thank you for walking with us today 🌸
