Tokyo’s Hanging Monorail and Wild Sento Nights
all right I don’t know what I got What a weird experience I haven’t even slept tonight in this morning Good morning friends from Tokyo I said I didn’t have enough fun last time I was here so I came back for more And I came back for a lot I’m here for a whole month I’m going all over Japan An insane trip across the entire country I can’t wait But first things first we’re in Tokyo today and we’re headed to Chiba to see the hanging Montreal the longest Montreal in the world Let’s do it So here it is The longest Montreal in the world And it’s really cool It’s suspended also So if I time this right I’ll be able to have a train going over me Oh here we go How cool dude Wow That’s awesome Wow that’s cool back I’m going to say that’s my [Music] The next station is Shiak Shai CM2 came out here to the uh the cove and there’s a bunch of people out here clamming Pretty cool man I think I’m going to go out there myself Check it out Oh okay Huh i think that’s a Well uh what a cool find out here in Sheba Bunch of people out here clamming Everyone seems really friendly It’s awesome man This why I like wandering around You find some cool stuff like this you never you never uh expect otherwise It’s awesome Drag it out wash Yeah Okay Okay Okay Three [Music] games So I stumbled into this like cafeteria for all these doc workers I don’t know really what it is I just uh I asked her for the recommendation I don’t know what I’m going to get at all Nothing with English So we’ll see how this turns out All right I don’t know what I got This looks like pork or chicken I don’t know Broccoli some miso What are these doesn’t look too weird All right I’m trying this noodly thing I don’t know what this is dude What is that thought it might be se but it’s not Very chewy Very very chewy Little salty I wish I could tell you guys what I’m eating but I don’t know It’s like a water chest or something Wo This is what I’m most concerned with I don’t know what kind of meat this is I think it’s pork It doesn’t look too weird I think it might be pork belly Kind of looks like pork belly Times up Wow that’s salty Doesn’t taste bad It’s really salty Really chewy I can see why it’s stewed like this A little more edible So this is some miso but there’s some stuff in there I don’t know if it’s bread or noodles or meat Who knows dude Let’s try some of the chumpy stuff first What that is i got no idea Well that was a an interesting experience Um I legit didn’t eat much of that food cuz it wasn’t very appetizing to me Uh but it cost me like $8 for that big ass plate of food which is really crazy It was I think like maybe 900 yen So even less than $8 It’s like $6 or $7 I think Now I’m going to leave Chea cuz honestly there’s not much to see out here It is a very very uh industryheavy city But it was cool to come out here I’m really glad I got to see the Montreal and going out to the beach was really fun too Um but now I’m going to head back towards Shinjuku Man Japan is uh so strange This is in the train station right now And it’s just like this giant mall attached to it It’s It’s really crazy to me that all these businesses can be so successful Wait there’s a grocery store down here on the basement floor of a train station There’s a grocery store What it’s so bizarre I mean it makes sense right you’re already taking the train You’re already going to be here no matter what Now you can get your shopping done too Looking for this bar I did not expect to find a grocery store down here A dry cleaners What wow This a smartphone repair place Like a tailor Whoop Japan Oh you are crazy dude Wow All right Beard popup This is a Japanese uh German cream puff Whoa Didn’t expect that I thought this was going to be a hand wipe This is a little cold pack to keep your little cream puff cold Oh yeah Felt fresh for me Custard That is awesome The texture is all cold in [Music] there Nice light flaky uh pastry That’s good Well that was amazing But I’m completely covered in custard And it’s cuz it’s Japan There’s no napkins anywhere Back in Chinjuku now I said in my last video but I’ll say it again People make the Japanese transit system way more intimate than it is It’s not hard Read the signs Everything’s in English Everything’s labeled by color and a number Dude it’s so easy to get around Tokyo Don’t be intimidated Don’t listen to those other content creators dude It’s easy I’m telling you it’s really easy Oh the giant mega crossings in Tokyo They’re so much fun Everything in Tokyo is fun though This really cracks me up about buying alcohol at convenience stores in Japan So step one get your booze If you’re out here you got to get one of these They’re wicked good Tastes like orange soda So now we’re going to go pay for it Here we go So that little popup that I had to hit yes it’s asking if you’re 20 or older And that’s the only age confirmation there is You just go “Yep I’m older than 20.” And they go “Okay [Music] All right Well I left the bars and it’s dawn out No hiding that fact It’s starting to get loud out and uh I’ve got a really fun adventure planned for tomorrow but I’m walking down to a public sauna Um it’s kind of similar to an onen if you know what that is but an onen has to have natural mineral water as a regulation in Japan So it can’t technically be considered an onen but it’s a public hot bath And I’m sitting there naked with a bunch of dudes at 5:00 a.m in the morning Let’s do it Man what a strange experience this is So I’m still partying from last night I found this 24-hour like spa thing I don’t know I thought it was like an onen but for men only and there’s like five floors The first floor was just like a sauna and like a hot bath like an onsen and uh like showers and stuff And then keep on going up on these other floors and there’s like all these amenities and stuff down in the floor below me There’s a bunch of people like sleeping with manga in there and stuff This is wild This is crazy Um I did not expect this I thought I’d be just like chilling with the boys I didn’t expect it to be a whole thing This is crazy This is crazy They’re being so nice to me That’s why I’m trying to be quiet because I don’t want to disrespect them because I this place is not set up for foreigners at all And they just kind of I really got walked in here and helped otherwise I would have been able to navigate myself Um wow What a cool such cool cultural experience The floor below me has people like in lounge chairs with like mago and stuff where you can kind of rest for a little bit I only have like 40 minutes left here I think I don’t really know what I paid for or anything What a weird experience I haven’t even slept tonight in this morning Um but the boys I was talking to they haven’t slept yet either and they just kind of chill So I’m going to go chill with them Yeah I don’t really get the whole vibe of this place I think it’s like I don’t know But like I’m in this little dining area with this kitchen back here I don’t really understand what you’re supposed to do in this place Well I I don’t know what to say Weird I will say though everyone’s been very very nice even though I’m out of my own So if you want to check something out like this you totally can Um just be polite and they’ll let you in Just be very very polite because this is really not meant for tourists at all but it’s cool
Kicking off my month-long Japan adventure in Tokyo, I venture to Chiba to explore the world’s longest monorail, savor some unique eats, enjoy a smoky late-night cocktail bar, and cap it off with a relaxing sento session with the boys.
