One of the highlights of my trip was visiting Miyajima Island (also known as Itsukushima). Aside from the beautiful temples and sights, the island is famous for their food such as oysters, Momiji manjus, lemons, and more. I loved trying all the food from the shops and wish I had more stomach room to try more.⁣

I recommend going to the island early, before 10 am because it gets very crowded in the afternoon. Also please be careful when carrying food items as the deer while friendly are pretty brazen and will try to steal your food from you! ⁣
