We Hiked Mt. Aso — Kyushu’s BIGGEST ACTIVE VOLCANO… Until It Got Angry 🌋

We hiked Mount Aso, Kyushu’s biggest active volcano… until it got angry.

What started as a regular hike turned into something way more intense. Located in central Kyushu, Mount Aso is Japan’s largest active volcano — and when we reached the top, we had to turn back 😦
We had no idea our hike would end in a volcanic evacuation warning.

From surreal landscapes to unexpected tension, this was one of our most unforgettable experiences in Japan.

🔥 Mount Aso facts:

-It’s one of the world’s largest calderas
-Nakadake crater is still active and closely monitored
-Eruptions have happened as recently as the last few years

🥾 In this episode:
-We explore the region of Kumamoto and it’s endless parks with cherry trees
-We pay homage to Eichiro Oda and One Piece visiting many of its statues
We eat some delicious Ramen and Okonomiyaki in local restaurants
-We hike across Aso’s vast volcanic terrain
-We run out Aso’s vast volcanic terrain 😂
