I Escaped to Akita for Food & Peace | Slow Japan Travel 🇯🇵

Hi there!
Early May in Japan means long holidays 🙂 Time to slow down. I came to Akita—normally just a work trip. But this time, it’s personal. In Japan, every region has its own local flavors. That’s the joy of traveling here. These are mountain vegetable tempura only available in spring. A once-a-year treat. Usually I rush through on business trips. But today, I get to really taste everything. Next—sushi. Each region catches its own fish. Northern Japan’s seafood is something special. This video is all about food. Enjoy the local tastes of Akita with me 🙂 This restaurant brings back old memories… like stepping into another time. Everything on the plate is all local—from the vegetables to the fish. With sake in hand, I let the flavors and quiet moments heal my tired mind. Even local supermarkets are full of surprises.
That’s what makes Japanese food culture so fun. This retro cafe hasn’t changed in 50 years.
Just bring here makes me smile 🙂 🙂 The owner’s homemade parfait—just sweet enough to make my day. I meant to show you the famous yakitori here… but I forgot to film it!
This is KAMAMESHI—steamed rice with toppings. Next time, I’ll take you deeper into Akita’s countryside.
