Kagoshima Day Trip π―π΅ | Volcano Views, Foot Baths & Ferry Rides
[Applause] [Music] Okay. Okay. Welcome to one of the best [Applause] [Music] views. [Music] Here we go. We’ve arrived to Kagoshima without a plan. And you know what the best part of that is? Is it doesn’t matter what you do. I highly suggest just arriving without a plan. Here goes Emry into [Music] Lawson’s. And I kind of want to go up to this pachinko and do a little [Music] gambling. I know. So fun. It’s 10:30 in the morning, end of April. [Music] And all I know that I do want to do here is there is a really good conveyor belt sushi restaurant. So that’s high on my list. Extremely high on my list. Let’s do it. Pachinko, please. Are we ready for a little pachinko? Okay, so we figured out that the rate that you touch your hand on this dial is the the rate that the balls come out and then you want them to get to the middle like what I just did. We’ll see. The jingo lak is not Oh no. What happened over here? Got a pajill. [Music] The bus is labeled Koshima City View, so it’s super easy to figure out. We have gotten off the bus. and are walking up to the lookout. Welcome to one of the best views in Keoshima, where the city meets the volcano. It’s absolutely unreal. That’s Sakuraima in the distance. It’s an active volcano just casually chilling across the bay. And right here, total peace, total beauty. If you’re in town, don’t skip this spot. Okay, we’re out of here. We stayed for quite a while. We found a boat. Yeah, we’re we’re taking the boat over. You don’t have to pay till you get to the other side. [Music] I can see I still smell those trees. Those trees smelt so good. [Music] And we go out to the volcano. Oh, it’s beautiful. Free foot bath here we come. Oh, it’s a long thing. It’s cool. Nice. The foot bath is very long. This is going to be awesome. Oh, wow. It extends all the way over here, too. Time for the foot path. It was worth it to pay the 250 to come over here because a free foot bath is definitely worth it. And it is nice and toasty. and lovely. In the early 1900s, there was an explosion on Sakurajima Island and you can see all of the lava. So, this is the geo park. It’s a 2 km roundtrip walk. Gorgeous. They must be constantly cleaning down here and picking the trash up and and all the ash. There’s all the ash is like brushed to the side. Yes. Oh, it’s very busy. Oh, it’s very busy, but it’s actually it’ll go fast. We are We walked over from the ferry terminal here and now we are going to eat. We need a ticket to So, we’re number 82 and we’re currently sitting number 67. [Music] Absolutely delicious. Absolutely delicious. And here’s the prices of each of the plates. I thought some of them these blue ones. I know. I got I got a lot of them. The blue fin was on there. Yeah, the blue fin was on that. So good. Oh my god. We decided that uh we should go to the ferris wheel before we leave. It’s in the Amu Amma Amma Plaza. Amu Plaza and it’s on the sixth floor and we’re headed up there right now. Is the lights kind of perfect and it’s 14 minutes to go all the way around so why not? This is lovely. Not me. [Music] I can take it out. Hello. [Music] Oh my god. Here we go. Got us on the ferris wheel. I got us on the ferris wheel. I guess you can close the window if you want. This is going to be good. Number 16. Here we are at the top of the ferris wheel. It’s a little scary. God, look at the beautiful view. Oh boy. Oh my god. Sure. An epic view. Okay, that was awesome. I recommend that regardless how scared I sounded. Now we’re off signing out from uh Keoshima as we head back to Fukuyoka, which will be there in an hour and a half. Peace.
Volcanoes, views, and steaming foot baths, welcome to Kagoshima! π
Just a quick ferry ride from the mainland, this day trip took me straight into the smoky shadow of Sakurajima, one of Japanβs most active volcanoes. From relaxing ashiyu foot soaks to watching locals slurp noodles on the ferry (yes, on the ferry!), Kagoshima delivered peace, power, and perfect sushi. π―π΅π£
If youβre craving something off the beaten path in Japan, this southern gem might just surprise you.
