I have a daydream that if I win the lottery I’d reach out to the Osaka tuning shops and have them make me a Kanjo-spec car because that would be some incredibly unique stuff outside of japan.
I guess because I like the idea of actually helping fund those shops that do all this blood sweat and tears without much international recognition. A GTR rebuilder gets a two hour highlight documentary on youtube, but a kanjo civic tuner…people outside of Osaka might not even know what they’re looking at. Outside of Japan it’s never seen.
But you would know how much true passion went into it, and you’d help keep those passionate people going.
Would you spend the money on something else instead?

No I’d build one myself

It’s a style, you can do it yourself. The engine work isn’t only specific to that style car, you can modify any engine (to a certain extent)

Yes and no……it’s much more fulfilling when you oversee and complete a project yourself.

If James May taught me anything, it’s that cars built for “sport/racing pedigree” will ride like complete ass; good luck not having your spine compressed on potholes, road bumps, tram tracks, etc. It’d be fun to look at, godawful to drive.

That looks sick but I’d atill take a blacked out evo 3 or gc8 sti over pretty much any JDM car

I’d just build my own, it’s not like it’s a hard style to replicate….

Like others have said, personally when it comes to these cars it is the personal connection between the car itself and the owner that counts.
Having someone do the entire process as a package to any car kind of defeats that value.
Not saying that you have to wrench them yourself, even if you’re paying for the labour, each of the decisions that you made for the car is what built that relationship.

No. I prefer to build cars myself instead of owning someone else’s build.

Yeah basically

I don’t know if I would or not, but I would definitely consider it.
