Unagi Lovers, Don’t Leave Nagoya🇯🇵 Without Trying Hitsumabushi! #japanfood #japantravel #Japan

I’ve tried #Hitsumabushi before but the version I had in its birthplace (Nagoya!) was NEXT-LEVEL delish.😋

The highlight for me was, of course, the #unagi (eel). Crispy on the outside while tender inside, it was grilled, charred & sauced to perfection.👏🏻 The walls of this popular restaurant are lined with framed celebrity autographs and I can understand why!

Hitsumabushi also a fun dish to eat, especially if you love condiments (me🙋🏻‍♀️). We were given an instruction sheet with 5 steps – 4 different ways of eating it & the 5th step was to choose our fave! I had a hard time deciding…😆

📍Hitsumabushi Hanaoka
💸 ~6100 yen/A$68 for 2 people (no drinks).
📝 There was quite a wait even though we went at their opening time. It’s a bit hidden too – don’t take the lift up; head to the back of the building & walk up the short flight of stairs.
