Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong will visit Osaka, Japan next week.

According to the business community on the 10th, Chairman Lee will attend the Osaka-Kansai World Expo (Osaka Expo) “Korea Day” event in Osaka on the 13th.

Chairman Lee’s visit to Japan is the first time in about a month since his business trip from the 2nd to the 9th of last month based on the schedule disclosed to the outside world.

Chairman Lee is reportedly scheduled to attend the official event of “Korea Day” (13th) held during “Korea Week” (13th-17th) on behalf of the business community.

“Korea Day” is a Korean version of “National Day” in which expo participating countries intensively show their traditions and culture in various forms, such as parades and performances. A reenactment event of the Joseon News Agency, an official diplomatic envoy sent by the King of Joseon to Japan and a symbol of bilateral exchanges, will also be held.

During this period, Chairman Lee is expected to tour the exhibition hall with other participants as the “Korea Excellent Product Exhibition” hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will be held. The Osaka Expo, which opened on the 13th of last month, will be held for six months under the theme of “Life Shining Future Social Design” with 158 countries from around the world participating.
