  1. That cake is what we have in every bar in Spain and we call it biscocho. The Portuguese brought it from Spain to Japan. It's pretty funny because it's the classic one for breakfast. Now the matcha flavour one is interesting.

  2. Has an almost Scandinavian feel about it with the obvious Japanese mix, im getting Oslo/Bergen vibes. The only other place ive seen that has a similar but different in its own way vibe is Hakodate. What a cool place Nagasaki looks!

  3. Really happy we added Nagasaki to our Kyushu trip, we'd go back in a heartbeat, cool city.

  4. You’re bringing back memories for me I spent a lot time in Nagasaki in the late eighties and early nineties. Nagasaki has so much to offer, for me it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world well worth a visit good food and good people.

  5. Wonderful video, my Mother's family all from Nagasaki, and a shout out to Nagasaki City Hall, Atomic Bomb Survivors office they helped my Mom get her benefits for over sea residents.

  6. My wife makes kakuni as a side dish. Never seen it in a bun before. Is this only in Nagasaki? I love kakuni it's slightly behind karage as my favourite Japanese food

  7. That’s a nice wall! You always show the most amazing walls in Japan. 🇯🇵 😊

  8. So nostalgic walking Glover Street again. There is an interesting connection to the opera Madame Butterfly with its setting in Nagasaki. The tycoon Glover had a brother who spent some time in Nagasaki and fostered a child with one of the bar girls which the Glover family adopted after the brother returned to Scotland. Reportedly their union and that child was the inspiration for the story of a child born to a Geisha and a foreigner U.S. Naval officer in the Opera.

  9. Japanese conbini food basically like fine dining in Indonesia John 😂.
Thank you John for taking us outside Tokyo again its so relaxing to watch and absolutelyits going into my “want to go” list again

  10. Thank you for the street view tours! I hope to visit Nagasaki one day and be able to explore these streets myself.
Just in case you're looking for any places to do a chill street view tour in Tokyo, the area around Todoroki Station is neat. I really wanted to visit the Todoroki Ravine Park during my last visit but it was closed due to some fallen trees. Also, the walk from Setagaya-Daita Station to Shimo-Kitazawa along the tracks through Bonus Track is very cool.
Nothing really special about either of the areas, but they're a nice slice of Japanese life.
