China has created a tourist destination by making Japan’s Mount Fuji fake and is internationally disgraced.
According to Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post (SCMP) on the 3rd, a tourist destination called “Space Fantasy Land” in Hebei Province, China, painted the top of a small hill white, which caused controversy over mimicking Mount Fuji, Japan’s symbol.
The tourist destination created a fake Mount Fuji, saying, “We will create a fairytale landscape with mountains, sparkling lakes, green lawns, white horses, and small wooden huts for those who are tired of their daily lives.”
However, this fake Mt. Fuji is only a small hill that cannot be called a mountain, and the top was painted with white paint.
The company also called the hill a “volcano” and produced a “fake volcanic eruption show” that bursts pink smoke every weekend.
In response, Sungshin Women’s University Professor Seo Kyung-duk said, “I can only think of the word ‘Huji,'” adding, “In the past, Hebei Province was criticized for indiscriminately replicating the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, and the Sphinx of Egypt.”
In particular, Professor Seo said, “Recently, at a mart in Hebei Province, there was a great controversy over the unauthorized use of pictures of actors Park Bo-gum and IU who appeared in the Netflix drama ‘Fully Frauded,’ and added, “Now China will have to have a proper ‘global mind’.”
