Tour of World’s Highest Snow Corridor, a magical Japanese experience (4K)
Tateyama Station marks the beginning of the Alpine Route. A historic gateway into Japan’s Northern Alps. The cable car climbs through thick alpine forest. Bijodaira sits at nearly 1,000 meters above sea level. The Highland Bus begins its journey into deeper snow. One of the snowiest places in the world. More than 20 meters of snow falls here each winter. Midagahara is known for its wetlands and highland scenery. The landscape turns white as elevation increases. Snow walls begin to form along the mountain road. GPS-guided machines clear the route each spring. The snow corridor appears near Murodo. Snow banks here can rise over 20 meters tall. Open to pedestrians from mid-April to late June. A unique seasonal path through towering snow walls. Murodo sits at 2,450 meters—highest on the route. Surrounded by the peaks of the Tateyama Mountain Range. Views stretch across the Chubu Sangaku National Park. Part of Japan’s “Roof of the Alps.” Wildlife includes ptarmigan, foxes, and alpine plants. The route combines cable cars, buses, and tunnels. Open from April to November due to heavy snow. A rare blend of nature, engineering, and tradition. One of Japan’s most extraordinary mountain experiences.
Join me on a scenic journey through one of Japan’s most breathtaking seasonal experience, the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. This video follows the route from Tateyama Station to Murodo, including a walk through the famous Snow Corridor (Yuki-no-Otani), where snow walls can reach over 20 meters high in spring.
This isn’t a real-time video, there are cuts to keep things flowing, but it’s filmed without narration or music so you can enjoy the natural atmosphere, sounds, and views.

When did you visit?
C'est hilarant. Dans un beau pays comme le Japon, il y a un groupe de touristes en provenance de Chine. Leurs paroles et leurs actes montrent qu’ils ne sont pas instruits et qu’ils n’ont aucun respect pour la culture des autres pays.
