Our Ridiculously Long Journey to TOKYO! | Parks Bros in Japan Travel Vlog
Hello everybody and welcome to Parks Bros. It’s Drew here. And after what seemingly took ages, we’re officially in Japan. What do I mean by took ages, you asked? Well, it all started when I was a kid. I watched Todoro and fell in love with the whimsy and charm of the world. Sorry, could you go a little bit further, please? Yeah, sorry. I’ll I’ll skip forward a bit. When I was a bit older, I signed up for karate after watching Kung Fu Panda. Yes. Funny, I know, but I ended up learning so much about traditions. Like closer to when you got there. Oh, uh, yeah. So, the first time I had [Music] to the flight. Yeah, that makes sense. Uh, it is how I got here, I guess. After a sleepless night filled with anxiety and excitement, we made our way for LAX. Arriving around an hour later, we entered the Tom Bradley International terminal and it was quiet. Really quiet. Not even the gate agents had made it yet. Say, does anyone else feel like watching The Incredibles right now? Anyway, we checked our bags, made it through security, and made the trek to the opposite side of the terminal just to find out the Lego store isn’t open at 5:00 a.m. Sad. We were greeted by some interesting and quiet pieces of art. Oh god, make it stop, please. Getting our first look at the plane was nice, knowing that this would be the most comfortable chair I’d sit in for the next 15 hours, I grabbed a watery $12 latte and boarded our A330 headed for Honolulu. Good morning everyone. This is your captain speaking. Uh, it should be a pretty easy flight to Hawaii today. Uh, clear skies and a flight time for about six more seconds. Thanks for flying today. Uh, mah, my first time in Hawaii. The breeze, the birds, and the outdoor terminal. It was nice to walk around for a little while after sitting for so long, but we only had another 2 hours before we’d be taking off again and for an even longer flight. 9 hours. As an aviation geek, it was cool to see some of the Hanu A380s and multiple F-15s and F-22s just outside the terminal. I ate my appropriately flavored snack and before I knew it, we were back listening to the music of Hawaii and hoping the person behind me would stop kicking my seat. Hey, uh me again. Our flight should be smooth for like uh most of the time. Uh anyways, enjoy the in-flight entertainment and multiple courses of food. We’re going to try our best to make sure that you uh won’t be able to sleep. So, mahalo. After enjoying Saturday night alongside a breakfast sandwich on the flight before, I went for a different angle and watched The Dark Knight for the first time. Yeah, seriously. And I ate a plate of yaki soba. When I tell you I thought I was going to burst with how freaking gassy this dish made me, believe it. The flight went from bearable to super uncomfortable incredibly quick. Yeah, I know. TMI, but it’s important for later. I promise. A handful of hours of failed sleep later, I turned on Marcel the Shell with shoes on alongside eating a turkey sandwich. This movie broke me. I recommend it to everyone, but get your tissues ready. The sandwich was fine. Thankfully, after what seemed like a full day, we were on our descent into Haneda airport. We were finally in Tokyo. [Music] [Applause] That’s not quite all we were looking for. If you could go further. Oh, you you want me to describe how I got to the hotel, too? Yeah, if you could. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, I can do that. As soon as we landed, we were greeted with two show Otani ads as we made our way to customs. Customs was really easy with a website we could fill out prior to the trip, providing our declarations and documents and putting it into their system. We picked up our bags and walked into the next room to figure out how to get to our hotel. We had three options. Taxi, the most expensive but quickest and easiest way to travel while including just your party. Number two, public transportation. The cheapest but longest and toughest to figure out for a jetlagged individual from another country and potentially surrounded by hundreds of others. Or number three, limo bus. a nice middle ground that is only marginally more expensive than public transportation while driving in a nearly direct route to your destination with stops nearby for the handful of others on board. We went with that third option. Kiosk for the limo bus were fairly easy to find and we purchased our tickets for the bus to the surrounding hotels of the Tokyo Disney Resort and selected our hotel for our tickets. Don’t worry, I’ll be making a first- timers guide with more information on all this, navigating public transit, the parks, and more soon. So, make sure to subscribe. With our bus only 20 minutes away, we stepped out into the great city of Tokyo. Tokyo decided to greet us with some rain, wind, and lightning. As we stood under the overhang, we patiently waited for our bus. This is when we got our first glimpse of public transit. Not a train or a subway. No, but a Montreal. Let’s freaking go. I told you it’s a vi Sorry. I mean, Montreals are a viable public transit. Whoa, so cool. We boarded our bus and reached the Hilton Tokyo Bay in about an hour. As soon as we arrived, the bus driver got our luggage out from underneath the bus and handed it not to us, but directly to staff at the hotel, who placed our things on a luggage cart, ready to head up the elevator whenever we received our room number. Following check-in, we headed to the elevator, and we were in for a handful of surprises. As soon as we got out of the elevator, we were greeted by trees and a dragon in a tree stump. This is kind of weird. Maybe it’s just a feature of the hallways to differentiate the floors. That has to be it, right? An employee was rolling a cart down the hallway as we tried to get out of the way. There was an awkward moment of the employee stopping and not going past us. The problem is our room was now partially blocked by this cart with our luggage. Some laughs were had as we got our things stowed inside room 421, which we now had eyes on. The hallway was not where the children’s fantasy theme ended. It was just the beginning. The carpet, purple and green, with random letters and words, paintings of gates, trees, and chickens all over the walls. A bunk bed and interactive elements, both cute and kind of creepy, were next. My family had played a little practical joke, it seemed. Once I opened the window shades though, the joke was an afterthought. Our first real look at the largest city in the world. The waving palm trees, endless waves, and thousands of blinking lights. Tokyo Tower, Diamond and Flower Ferris wheel, and Tokyo Skytree were just some of the icons of the city within our view. If we’re lucky, we could even see the elusive Mount Fuji. This view alone made the ridiculously long travel day worth it. It’s when I knew we made it. [Applause] [Music] [Music] Thanks so much everyone for watching this first episode of our adventures in Tokyo. There’s so much more to come with visits to the Disney parks, Star Wars Celebration, and other stunning locations throughout the city. Make sure to subscribe to see all of it and more and comment down below what you’re most excited for. Thank you again and until the next one, we’ll see you on the next ride. [Music]

So fire
Fancy spotting a Qantas A330 in a parks bros vlog…😀😀😀
This is mainly the reason why I've never been to any countries outside North America. Unless there's a magic portal that can transport you from Minneapolis, in my case, to Tokyo and back within the same day, I don't think I could ever go there as the flight would be a tremendous drag.
I like the style you chose for this.
This doesn't look like just another park visit, this looks like the trip of a lifetime! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip
Love the style you chose, lots of personality which is awesome! I hope you keep it up 👍🏼
$12 for a latte? THAT is outrageous!
Soooo… best parks bros video yettttt 👀 I can’t wait for the rest
