I went to JAPAN for food & travel, but in OSAKA.
[Music] That’s not good. [Music] Hi guys, Tito here and right now we’re in Japan. I’m here with my father, my brothers, and my wife. You may see me showing some clips of them in the video. We still have a lot of places to go and a lot of places to eat at. Right now, we’re just going to our Airbnb to drop off our luggage and get some rest. And then we’ll go to the places that we want to go. So, this will be a two-part series, which in the first part, we will show Osaka. The next part will be our tour at Tokyo. For now, like, share, and subscribe if you haven’t already, and click on the bell icon so you can help the channel grow further. Sit tight and relax and enjoy the [Music] video. So, we’re now inside our Airbnb. As you can see here, they have the basic amenities. Two toilets and two bathrooms around four bedrooms, one big bedroom, and three small bedrooms. decent for an Airbnb because if you have gotten a hotel costs the same, it will not be the same size. So, some of the details that I can show, I’ll show on the screen. Some of the details that I miss, I’ll just link down in the description below. Let’s [Music] go. First meal of the day, either gyoza or the king’s fried chicken of the Lag Michelin. It was indicated that this is supervised by Michelin restaurants, but we’ll see if they taste great. King’s fried chicken. The skin is crispy, the meat is juicy, and also it has that light umami flavor. Maybe because of the seasoning that they use. It’s not too salty. It’s just the right taste for the fried chicken. They also have no dip. Usually, it’s yuki. So, next would be the gyoza of the thunder god. It has sauce all over it. No need to dip. It has that porky veggie feeling. Also a starchy texture as well. The soy added some slight umami feel and tang to it. Last one for now is the takoyaki with the shrimp. This is the shrimp on a stick. It has that slight seafoody and sweet taste. This is the takoyaki itself. There are tiny bites of octopus inside. Slight taste of bonito flakes. The bonito flakes is full of umami and also the slight sweetness of the sauce and the tang of the mayonnaise. So overall taste I think because they are told to be michelin it’s not too good. So just to cleanse my palette my dad bought some roy nama chocolate that is matcha. It’s milky. It’s chocolateaty melt in your mouth, but you still taste the earthy bitter taste of the matcha. Okay. So, how’s the matcha? It’s sweet. No earthy taste. It should not be sweet. [Music] So, we’re now at doton B sightseeing. What? I’m hungry. and find out where should we eat later. So, as you can see here, uh many people are taking pictures of the Glycom man and posing. Fun fact, the Glycom man is a Filipino. [Music] Now we’re inside ramen lori. So I ordered a tonkotu based ramen which is spicy. First let’s try the broth. Wow. The broth is creamy. It’s milky. It’s very porky in taste. It has some nutty flavor. Maybe because of the sesame seeds, but really it’s a big step up from Philippines made ramen. It’s just the broth. So, let’s try the noodles with the mana. Menma is bamboo [Music] shoots. Wow. The noodles is al dente. It has the right amount of bite and the menma added a bit of crunch. The noodles definitely absorb the broth. Here’s a piece of charu. It’s already broken down because it’s really tender. Yeah, it’s already gone. It’s melt in your mouth. Still very porty tender. Really? Okay, let me just open up this egg. [Music] Wow, that eggy taste uh together with the broth. Yeah, it’s just perfect. Okay. So, I was curious because outside there was a signage pertaining to black steamed pork bun. So, I ordered one piece. Wow. The inside is still very moist. The outside is soft. Slightly acidic. Slightly salty, but in a good way. The porky flavor is really good. The meat is so tender. The bread, it’s so moist and so soft when you first bite them. [Music] Hello guys. So today we are going to Kyoto Nara UGG tour. So we have availed this at cloak and I will just link the cloak promo down below at the description. So we’re heading out to the pickup point for that center tour and you guys will see how amazing is Kyoto. So let’s go. Let’s try their convini food. So this is their pork sausage, garlic, and mayonnaise. So this is just a spam musubi. Look at [Music] that. Decent, but weird because the rice is cold and also the spam is a little chewy, salty, slightly sore because of the mayonnaise. Overall, decent. For the drink, it’s just Tropicana. It’s available in the Philippines, but this is in Japan. [Music] Oh, that’s sweet. Sweet orange juice. [Music] So, we just got down from our bus. We are just going to be following first the tour guide going to Toadi Temple. Later on, we’ll go to Nara Park. [Music] 999. [Music] She used to say hands up. Yeah. Okay. [Music] Look at my brother being bombarded with deer. So, how’s your experience being bombarded by the deer? Scary. [Music] So, we’re now back at the bus and we’re going to Uji. Thank you. So, the tour guide gave us a cookies. Let’s try. There is chocolate in the bottle and that’s one. It’s really good for chocolate. And the biscuit [Music] is So, we’re now at Puji. I think my wife is going to enjoy it here because this place is full of matcha. Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell that the cherry blossoms here are more blossoming than ever. You can see here there are many, many cherry blossoms and sakura trees. [Music] Okay, so we’re now inside Maruichi store. This is a roast beef shop. I’ve just ordered the roast beef without the egg. This is my order, but let’s try first their miso soup. Their miso soup is really good. It’s deep, funky, earthy, and savory taste. Just to freshen up my palette, I’ll just taste their pickled eggplant, I think. It has a fermented vinegar taste. Also funky. So this is the roast beef. Ah, right there. Oh, it has a beefy, fatty taste. It’s full of flavor, savory, and full of umami. Uh, it’s really uh melt in your mouth type of meat. Next, let’s try the sauce. Wow. It added that soy taste with a slight sweetness to it. Okay, last one. I think this is wasabi, this green one. So, let’s put a bit on top of the roast with the rice. [Music] The rice has an al dente bite. The wasabi is unlike any other that I’ve tasted before because it doesn’t taste like the usual horseradish that is served and also least amount of spice. Okay. How’s the beef with the egg? Because I haven’t ordered the egg. Doesn’t taste egg. that made the business moist and fresh. Let’s try their yuzu soda. It’s citrusy and fruity. The usual carbonated drink. [Music] Okay, so we’re right now at Matcha Town. The smell of tea and matcha here is immense. Some tea. I’ll just show you. They also have this one at another place. This one. [Music] nerve. The [Music] second more to come. Okay, so I’ll just try the matcha ice cream that they serve back there. [Music] Wow. It’s not too sweet. It tastes earthy. Quite good. So, for today’s last stop for this trip package would be the Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. So, let’s go. [Music] Wow, there’s too many people. Very exhausting. Oh my god, there’s [Music] So before going back to Osaka, I’ll just try the mochi matcha that I’ve bought [Music] earlier. It’s so soft, slightly bitter because of the matcha flavor. So earthy. It’s a bit sweet, but it’s good. [Music] We are now at Sis Osaka at Roman market to have our dinner. First, I’ll try their salmon sushi without the sauce first. The salmon is rich and buttery, velvety, melt in your mouth feel. And also the rice has a subtle vinegary taste. Also, the sushi already has a wasabi inside. It got a hint of spice. Next is tuna sushi. Look at that. Really nice. The tuna is meaty and savory, but it is firmer than the salmon. It still has that fresh fish texture. Next one would be the eggnori sushi. I’ll just try because it seemed very delicious at the picture. The seo umami taste of the nori together with the fluffy texture and the subtle sweetness of the egg. It’s a harmony of flavors. So, let me just try the tuna sushi with that soy sauce that they have. Just a bit. This is the correct way to dip [Music] sushi. The saltiness of the soy acidity of the soy sauce has complimented the overall flavor of the sushi. So, let me just try this eBura that is from my wife’s order. The taste of the shrimp is still fresh. Taste the breading is still crispy while also having a sweet taste because of the [Music] sauce. So, just a testament of how good their sushi is. I ordered the second round of the same sushi that I’ve eaten earlier. [Music] So, we’re right now at Mega Donote to buy some souvenirs. [Music] [Music] Hey, they got here a really long line and it’s insane. And we just got here at the tax-free counter behind me. So, we’ve waited too long for this. We’ve successfully got our haul tonight. Exhausting really. But first, please like, share, and subscribe if you haven’t already and click on the bell icon so you can help the channel. Oh, today we are going to use the Osaka amazing pass that we have availed through. Look, we can travel around 40 plus destinations throughout Osaka and we can also use their train lines. So, I can link down the clock package that we have availed in the description below. [Music] So, we’re now at the outskirts of Osaka Castle and behind me here are lots of Sakura and cherry blossom trees. It’s really amazing, guys. Right there at the back is the Osaka Castle. We’ll go through there inside later. [Music] Apparently, there is a really long line for regular tickets. So, luckily we have the the clock tickets. [Music] Have [Music] So, we’ve just got out of the Osaka Castle and we’re heading out for lunch. We’re so hungry. So right now we’re inside Hidam Muray. This is a ramen restaurant nearby Osara Castle. There are establishments here that also sell food and other souvenirs. What we’ve ordered here is the special omami pork ramen. We’ve paid this through the vending machine. Here’s my special omami pork ramen. So first let’s try their broth. It’s rich. It’s full of umami. Perfect for the rainy weather. Now, let’s try the noodles with the spring onions and kicuragi. Kikuragi is the ear mushroom. So, here’s a long pull of the [Music] noodles. The noodles are just right. It’s al dente and also it has absorbed the broth. The kicuragi and the spring onions added a bit of crunch. Look at that chashu. So [Music] fatty. So the fat just melted in my mouth while having a lean bite. So next is the egg. Here’s the egg. It’s perfectly cooked, softboiled. And also I think this has been [Music] marinated. That eggy flavor with the broth. It’s perfect. Next, let’s try their chicken kagi. [Music] crunchy and savory. Really juicy inside. So, here’s the less with the sauce. The flavor of the pork. Crunch of the green onions complemented the taste of the sauce, which is slightly acidic with the soy, crispy on the bottom, and also soft on the top. Apparently, it’s raining really hard here, so I’ll just cut to the next destination. [Music] Okay. So, we’re now inside the building of Omega Sky Observatory. So, we’re going there right now. [Music] So, right now we’re at the top floor of Omega Sky. Unfortunately, it’s been raining hard. So, that’s why, as you can see here, the visibility is so low. At least we get to experience the long ride of the escalator to the top and also the view from up here. Even though it’s low visibility. [Music] So, we are at the top of Umeda sky and we are just trying to get our money’s worth. So, this is the view of the city and it’s so cold and windy out here. One of my brothers has not come because he’s too scared. So, we’re now done here and on to our next destination. [Music] Okay, so we’re now inside Yodabashi. This is like a department store with full of gadgets and also other items such as cosmetics and other merchandise such as clothing and also food. But we will not eat here unfortunately. But luckily, we haven’t bought much items here at Yodabashi. So saving us from expenses. [Music] This is a sushi place and shaboo shaboo place also. But we opted for the eat all you can seafood and meat sushi. But first I have ordered the mango juice. I think this is carbonated. Oh, taste of the mango is subtle but not overwhelming. Earlier the waitress gave us a QR code and then we accessed the menu through our phones and you can order any items that are included in your package worth zero yen. So this is the Wagyio rose beef sushi. Really nice. There is a sauce on top. So the Wagyio roast beef sushi has some umami melt in your mouth. It has the buttery feel of the wagyu and also the sweet taste of the sauce on top. Also, the rice is a subtle hint of vinegary taste. This the bluefin tuna sushi without the sauce [Music] first. So, the bluefin tuna is richer and fattier than the usual tuna and also has that mineralike taste. Let’s try the blue fin tuna dipped in soy sauce. The soy sauce added some complexity to the flavor, soy and acidity. So, here is their shrimp sushi. Amazing. Nice colors. [Music] It still has that raw shrimpy taste with a subtle sweetness and briney flavor. So, this one order is a mouthful because it’s named Tulong. This is the black Wagyu large cut loin sushi. Oh, also has some rice at the bottom and it contains some beef juices. These are not blood. eater. A black Wagyu has just that delicate beefy taste. Super buttery, very, very tender. A bit of wasabadi inside that adds to the spiciness of the dish. This has a long name, so I don’t remember anymore. This is like baby rice wrapped in a beef blanket. Let’s try this red shrimp. I think I’ll need to remove the head first without the head. M. This one tastes a little fresher than the normal shrimp. It has that seafoody taste, more briny flavor. The texture is more mushy. So, this red shrimp is already red, so it is not cooked. This one is raw. So, I ordered some meat wrapped guman with salmon row. So, this is a warbo [Music] chip. The beef is cooked, buttery, and tender. And also the salmon row added to the fishy saltier taste. The first dessert that I ordered is the cream puff. Oh wow. So the cream puff contains a vanilla ice cream inside. Creamy and a little bit sweet. So let’s try their cheesecake. It’s custardy at the bottom. A slight chiffon feel at the top. Slightly sweet like the Kamorei cheesecake that the Japanese have. Hello guys, this is our fourth day. Supposedly, this is the last day of going around Osaka. We don’t have a set itinerary today. But first, we will get our Osaka Metro Passes at Idion Namba. So, as you can see here in the screen, the Osaka Metro passes are the included items from the cloak package that we availed for the Osaka amazing pass. [Music] Okay, so we’re now at Namba Shrines, just a walking distance from the place we went to earlier. As you can see, there are a lot of tourists [Music] here. There are also some people that write their wishes here and left it here inside the temple. [Music] Okay, so we’re now inside Unagi Koshiaki ISO. off earlier. There was a really long line. Luckily, we got inside around the 20 to 30 minute mark. It’s really funny because uh every time some people gets in, they sound their drums. Whenever people get out, they also greet them goodbye. So, what I’ll order here is the eel with fluffy omelette rice bowl, which has an option of choosing whether the rice is regular size or the half size. Also, my wife will order the beef and eel rice bowl. I just taste a bit of the beef that she will order. So, my wife borrowed some blanket from the staff because the cold air goes in through the main entrance of the mall. So, look at her. Okay, so my order has arrived. And here’s my bowl of unagi with omelette. Ah, look at that. The omelette is also jiggly. So, let’s try to taste eel first. [Applause] Very good. the fattiness of the eel reminiscent to having the fat of the mefish. Also, be careful when eating the eel because there are remnants of eel bones. Those are like thin fish bones. So, let’s grab a spoonful of the eel omelette and the rice. That’s a spoonful. [Applause] Wow. So, the eel is so tender. It’s so savory. A sweet taste because of the sauce. Saltier and has a fishier taste than the usual fish. The omelette added some fluffiness and eggginess while the rice has a soy taste. So, I’ll try a bite of the beef that my wife ordered. So, this is the beef. Really buttery, beefy, and tender. The beef is also slightly sweet. Maybe because they also use the same sauce that they use for the id. I don’t know. After having some lunch, we wanted to find some dessert. So we saw this supermarket that has some food places inside. We opted to buy the cheesecakes from one of the establishments. So one is the burnt basque chocolate cheesecake. Also regular bas burnt cheesecake. This one really nice. It has the creaminess of the cream cheese and also the smoky and slightly burnt flavor of the taco. Next is the chocolate burnt based cheesecake. Wow. The chocolate one is slightly sweeter and also the nuti chocolate is oozing with flavor. The cheesecake is also slightly moist. It has a very creamy bite. I think I like the chocolate one better. So, how’s your crepe? More cream. Mango crap. Mango crap. [Music] Anita [Music] airport. We stumbled upon shop after shop of knives. I’m thinking about buying one Japanese knife, but maybe it’s a rabbit hole that I do not want to get [Music] in. So, we passed by Dunden Town and if you like manga and anime, I do not like anime that much, but I know other people that do. And also if you like some other pop culture references, you will definitely love [Music] Dendenta. Okay, so we’re inside Mambbo to have our dinner. This is an okonomiyaki and yakisoba place which is nearby Kuroman market. I have ordered a pint of asah. So this is that pint of asah. [Music] really nice flavor of Japanese beer, a molted hop, a slightly refreshing dry aftertaste. Okay, I’ve got my order of yakisoba and pork okonomyaki. So, let’s grab a portion of that yakisoba. As you can see here, they have grles on each table. You can cook or heat the food by yourself. So, I think this is beef. It’s a piece of [Music] tap. The yak so is great. It’s salty. It’s sweet. It’s soft, crispy on some parts of the noodles. Bits of pork and shrimp. The cabbage also added some crunch to the dish. Mind you, I ordered the pork okonomyaki. So, this is that portion. It’s still [Music] hot. That’s really good. The pork is well cooked inside. Uh, it’s soft and tender. It’s off in terms of it’s like a pancake bite. There are also some cabbage bits inside. It’s a bit crunchy. It is also really sweet and it has some spiciness to it because I added some chili powder. All in all, the okonomiyaki and the yaki soba here that we’ve tasted here in Japan is really different from the ones that I have tasted in the Philippines. In the Philippines, I think they have skimped on some ingredients because taste of the okonamyaki is richer, fuller, and also the yaki so has a taste of umami, more sav. We’ve just passed a family mark while going home. The food that we ate earlier is so savory. So, we needed some dessert. So, I’ve ordered this bread with custard that has chocolate inside. So, let’s just open this [Music] up. Wow. This is the [Music] [Applause] filling. M. Bread is so soft. And also the custard filling has a light chocolate flavor. It’s just subtle, not too sweet. Next is this. So they serve the milk here in cartons. Just like this. Open up like [Music] this. The milk is creamy while not having a subtle hint of sweetness. So this is a whole fresh milk. [Laughter] Okay, good morning guys. So, I eventually gave in because I know that I told you guys yesterday that I will not go down this rabbit hole, but right now I just bought a Japanese knife. I opted for the stainless steel one because of the preference when I held the knife at my hand. I fell in love with the knife. They also have some accessories inside uh like wet stones, knife containers and the such. I just went along and bought a wet stone so I could maintain my knife. That’s that. I’ll just unbox when I get home because this is taxfree. So I’m just waiting here right in front of Sakayishonji. I’m waiting for my wife, my brothers, and my father. So this is the last day of our trip in Osaka. And I have mentioned earlier in this video that this is a two-part series. Please like, share, and subscribe if you haven’t already, and click on the bell icon so you could help the channel. This is Tito signing off for now, and until the next video, thank you guys. [Music]
