We had the place to ourselves! ✨ TeamLab Forest ✨ Fukuoka, Japan
TeamLab Forest is so much less crowded than TeamLab Planets and Borderless in Tokyo!

Join us for an afternoon in Fukuoka, starting with lunch at Yayoi Ken, a chain restaurant that serves teishoku (Japanese set meals), including two vegetarian options. Then explore TeamLab Forest with us, including the beautiful catching and collecting forest, and many of the same rooms from the TeamLab Planets expansion. But in Fukuoka it’s so much less busy. There were a few rooms we had completely to ourselves! The video includes how to get there, how to get tickets and tips. Then we see what else is in the Boss EZO building, including the Sanrio Characters Dreaming Park, HKT48 theatre and a virtual sports park. After that we try our luck with UFO catchers in the arcade and go for okonomiyaki at a small restaurant called Mimi. Finally, see how calm it is on the Fukuoka subway as we finish the night with karaoke.

TeamLab Forest there in Fukuoka, Japan 🇯🇵 looks so beautiful, Amy! I'll make sure to put this place on my to-do list if I ever visit Japan. ❤
Isnt there 1 in KYOTO?
I love Yayoi. I go all the time in Thailand. Love the red bean dessert.
We are starting our next trip to Japan in Fukuoka, so maybe we’ll check it out😊
Looks great – I've done Planets and Borderless. I fly into Fukuoka but only staying 1 night before Nagasaki etc. There's a beer festival on. Hmm, Teamlab or Beer? 😉
Another cracking vid, thanks both of you. Apologies for the essay; this is timely for me as I'll be moving to Tokyo [from Manchester] in September to go to language school for a year – starting from October, but with a view to staying there long term. This is in large part thanks to you and your videos for hooking me on all things Japan.
Last year I did the Golden Route plus Kinosaki (again, thanks to you) and I got the chance to say 'ello to both of you in Borderless in March. You were kind enough to take a minute to speak to the excitable weirdo and take a few photos with him… i.e. me 😄. Just wish I hadn't left my guidebook in my bag in the lockers – otherwise I defo would've asked you to sign it.
Anyways, I'm hoping to go a few weeks early and do a mini tour for a few weeks starting at Fukuoka and working my way back up to Tokyo via Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Okayama, Himeji, Kobe, Osaka, Nagoya, and Yokohama. I'll be adding tips from this vid and rewatching previous ones to get more. Thanks again – please keep doing what you're doing 💌
yayoi has some really tasty spicy dan dan style noodles often times that I thought were the best thing there tbh, it's a pretty tasty quick meal.
Looks like fun. Never been to Fukuoka. I have only gone as far as Hiroshima by train and on a different trip spent a few days in Okinawa (air) however haven't spent time in between. Not sure when i will get to Fukuoka, so ill go to Team'Labs in Tokyo. On a completely side note, have you ever posted a video on what camera/s you use for your videos? I'll never get into youtube vlogging but i want to capture family moments on holidays and I don't like using my phone, i guess mainly as it hasnt got the best camera. I used to carry around a Canon 5D with a couple of lenses but it got too awkward to carry on long days out. I just got an action camera and also looking into the pocket 3 which looks so convenient. There are a ton of videos out there anyway just curious to hear if you have posted a video on your camera/s. I did see one reflection on your videos where you were using a SLR, must be hard work.
Oh, I also like going to the front of the train and watching the drivers. The first time i seen this i was blown away by their professionalism. They would carry out a crosscheck of their readings and instruments by physically pointing to and reading the dials. I guess that is one of the traits of their culture i love and why i like Japan so much.
We went last May and there was a few ppl there. We spent an hour in the first room cause we had to catch ALL the animals and fish 😂 we actually didn’t know there was other rooms haha! But we did three TeamLabs that trip (planets and borderless too) and Forrest was by far our favourite.
Had time to catch this and really appreciated it. Was also nice to see Mr. Cakes with Faces too!
Thankyou another thing to add to the list in fukuoka
TeamLab on Mondays is a good idea actually… We went to TeamLab Planets in Tokyo to kill some time before a concert at Saturdays and it was super crowded by tourists and families. I don't think I could pet the animals at the forest there but I was too busy trying to catch them, what isn't quite easy and my app got disconnected alot… If it isn't full and you have infinite charging for your phone you really could spent hours there!
I'm currently planning my next trip to Japan and have a question.
Is it possible to do a day trip from Fukuoka to Yufuin and Beppu or is that cramming to much and spend the night there?
Yay! Yayoi Ken!! Can’t wait to go! Actually I’ve been finding some veggie options all over the place! It actually puts my mind to rest 😊
2:05 I'm so jealous of Phil's lunch. That looks amazing.
18:16 I thought you were going to say "Ramen!"
Staying in hiroshima how far is it from fukuoka ? I might go there
Very helpful thank you. I’ll check out another video.
TeamLab Forest looks really amazing Amy, a mix between the two TeamLabs in Tokyo, but with much more relaxed. The first rooms, with the animals that you can "collect", looks especially great. I would probably just enjoy it, without trying to "collect" animals, because being on my mobile the whole time is a bit stressful to me.
Have you been to the TeamLab in Ibaraki-ken ? It looks quite special, and I plan on visiting there next year, and also staying overnight.
Think i seen you on internet that you were in Persona 5 cafe? (From video game) any idea if its still available? Or maybe some other cafes from video games like final fantasy or i dont know resident evil? 😅
I'm taking my third trip to Japan in November. It was going to be split 50/50 between Fukuoka and Hokkaido. Fukuoka is getting longer and I think Hokkaido will have to wait.
