I heard there was a popular cartoon in Japan with some racoon. Than everyone started getting them as pets, which they eventually couldn't care for and just let go outside. So it became an invasive species with no real predators. The point of the racoon story, is they started destroying these old temples and buildings that are so old! 😢 Culture lost to cartoons
