During my spring trip to Tokyo, I decided to spend a day in Kamakura. It’s about an hour train ride from Tokyo and is a beautiful small town with temples galore.
I first headed to the Great Buddha, or Kamakura Daibutsu. This is one of those super famous photo spots of Japan. It’s the second largest bronze buddha in Japan.
I also went to Hase-dera Temple which has a beautiful garden and interesting cave within the temple grounds. Finally, I stopped at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine which is located in the middle of town with a long walkway leading up to the shrine.
Much love and happy travels
