Day 4 of the Kumamoto ride takes me deep into the remote beauty of Amakusaโ€”an island chain that feels worlds away from the mainland. With fewer landmarks on the map, I decided to mix things up: no sightseeing agenda, just one self-imposed challenge… find ramen without using Google Maps. ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

Inspired by my recent series with Ludwig and Michael Reeves where we crossed Japan without tech, I hit the road old-schoolโ€”relying on signs, locals, and a bit of luck to guide me to a bowl of something warm and delicious.

Along the way, I make a quick stop at Todoroki Park to check out a peaceful waterfall and swing by the historic Oe Cathedral, tucked into the hills like a forgotten postcard. But the real highlight? Discovering an epic, off-the-grid camp spot just in time for one of the best sunsets of the trip. ๐ŸŒ…๐Ÿ•

Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s packed into todayโ€™s episode:

๐Ÿ’ฆ A tranquil visit to Todoroki Falls, hidden in the Amakusa hills
โ›ช A quiet moment at the beautiful and historic Oe Cathedral
๐Ÿœ A mapless ramen challenge โ€” can I find the good stuff without tech?
๐Ÿ›ต Scenic island riding with sea views and empty roads
โ›บ One of my favorite wild camping spots yet, with a killer sunset to close the day

โ€”

โžค What is Project 47?
Iโ€™m on a mission to ride through all 47 prefectures of Japan solo, exploring beautiful backroads, camping under the stars, and connecting with the people I meet along the way. This is raw, real Japanโ€”seen from two wheels.

  1. After hectic work watching these episodes with a cup of coffee hits different ๐Ÿ˜…. Cant wait to see what view is after the next corner.

  3. How do you keep finding the best people wherever you go?
I started watching this channel because of the bike, now I think I like the people you meet more than the bike ๐Ÿ˜‚. These kind of momens want you to just pack your belongings and move to Japan. Thank you for sharing with us another day.

  4. At one stage it looked like you almost hit 100kph on the GB ๐Ÿ˜‚ gee if honda made them in a 500 or 650cc that would be perfect

  5. Dear Adam. What a pity that Hond is not the great work you are doing and how valuable it is for us to see how little GB shows what it is capable of , Honda should be your personal sponsor.

A new day in Kumamoto thanks to you brings peace and tranquility ๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜. my best wishes to you
