Goryokaku Park in Hakodate, Japan

Every spring, around 1,600 cherry trees (mainly Somei Yoshino) bloom in full glory, turning the star-shaped fort into a breathtaking sea of pink!

During the day, take a relaxing stroll under the blossoms,
and at night, enjoy the dreamy, romantic atmosphere created by beautiful light-up displays
You might even catch locals enjoying a traditional spring BBQ picnic called “Genghis Khan” – it’s a Hokkaido favorite!

We’ll also show you the best ways to get there and give you a peek at the stunning view from the nearby Goryokaku Tower.
