e-sports SQUARE Ichikawa, which opened in Ichikawa, Chiba in November 2011, moved to Akihabara in 2014 as e-sports SQUARE AKIHABARA. Despite changes in the business format and management company structure, the current ” e-sports SQUARE ” has continued to support the scene as a sacred place for Japanese e-sports.

The facility, with its competition stage and spectator space, is used for tournaments such as “LJL 2015” and “Don Katsu Halloween Night,” spectator events, e-sports events, program recording, and distribution, and especially for Fighter’s Crossover, organized by Kagechi (@kagecchi79 ). Fighter’s Crossover -AKIIBA- (now Fighters Crossover), organized by @kagecchi79, was a famous event that no fighting gamer has ever heard of.

The “e-sports SQUARE,” a facility dedicated to e-sports with such a long history, will close on April 30, 2025 (Wednesday). The operator, GLOE Corporation, plans to consolidate its headquarters, e-sports SQUARE, and GLOE studio, which were scattered throughout Tokyo, into the new headquarters.
