Police in Japan have searched the house of actor Hirosue Ryoko, who was arrested for allegedly injuring a nurse at a hospital following a car accident.
Police say the search of Hirosue’s house in Tokyo on Thursday was part of their investigation into the traffic accident she caused on Monday. They say the 44-year-old suspect was so agitated during questioning she could not carry on a conversation.
Hirosue was sent to prosecutors on Wednesday on suspicion of injuring the nurse by kicking and scratching her. The prosecutors are expected to decide shortly whether to ask a court for permission to continue detaining her over the hospital incident.
The actor herself was injured when a car she was driving rear-ended another vehicle on an expressway in the central Japan prefecture of Shizuoka. She was taken to a hospital in Shimada City in the prefecture.
The actor was reportedly restless at the scene of the car accident as well as at the hospital. Police say a man with her in the car, who is said to be her manager, was also injured in the accident.
