KYOTO — Cherry blossoms are almost in full flower in various locations across Kyoto Prefecture, with tourists from both Japan and abroad enjoying blossom viewing in Arashiyama Park on April 3.

In the park in Kyoto’s Ukyo Ward, Somei Yoshino cherry trees were about 70% in bloom, and Yamazakura cherry trees were also blooming on the mountain slopes on the right bank of the Katsura River. Blessed with clear skies in the morning, many visitors took photos with Togetsu-kyo Bridge in the background, fully savoring the arrival of spring.

The Somei Yoshino trees in the park are expected to reach full bloom by April 4. According to the Kyoto Local Meteorological Office, the southern part of the prefecture is forecast to have clear weather from the afternoon of April 4 through the following day.
