First time trying freshly made Dorayaki #travel #japan #japantravel #japanesefood
Near the Sumpu Castle Park was a large red torii gate. This was the entrance and shopping street leading to the Shizuoka Sengen Shrine.
There was a popular stall that sold Dorayaki or Japanese Red Bean Pancake, with a really long queue. The Dorayaki were freshly made.
First the batter was scooped onto a hot griddle. Moments later, the pancakes were flipped. After they were ready, the pancakes were set aside and the red bean paste would be put in between 2 pancakes.
Besides Dorayaki, there was also Dango wrapped in pancake too.
