Exploring Magome-juku: A Walk Along the Nakasendo Trail
Magome is a beautifully preserved post town on the historic Nakasendo Trail, once a major route connecting Kyoto and Edo (Tokyo). Unlike its neighbor Tsumago, Magome has been more modernized, with well-maintained buildings, paved streets, and charming shops catering to visitors.
In this video, I take a peaceful walk through Magome, capturing its scenic streets, traditional wooden houses, and stunning mountain views. Along the way, you’ll see cozy cafés, souvenir shops, and historical landmarks that make this town a popular stop for travelers exploring the Nakasendo.
If you enjoy quiet walks, beautiful landscapes, and a glimpse into Japan’s unique blend of tradition and modernity, Magome is definitely worth a visit!
