It seems to be that the Villa Vie has more of a family kind of feel. I am not hearing any of the high drama that I heard about another cruise ship that did a 9 month cruise. Awhile back. It seemed so cut throat and ridiculous in the way people couldn’t get along. They got into different cliques of status and OH MY WORD! Hopefully the Azamara would have a VV vibe.

I don’t believe there is anything even close to the Villa Vie Residents out there to do an apples to apples comparison with. My choice is still the Villa Vie…for so many reasons …. Much gratitude!!
I've been saying from the beginning that the best thing I'm hearing about the Odyssey isn't the luxury pleasures that the management arranges for their residents — it's the casual fun that the residents arrange for each other.
I grew up in a New York co-op building, a type of building that's not often found anywhere else I'm aware of, but which is commonplace all over New York City. The building is owned by the residents, not the way a condo building is, with each resident owning their own apartment directly; but as a collective in which each resident owns shares in the company that owns and runs the building. As part of your share ownership, you get the right to live in a certain apartment, but you don't own the apartment — you own a chunk of the total company.
One of the side effects I've observed in co-ops is that they tend to make their own fun together a lot of the time. The building management does arrange plenty of things — for example, it pays the superintendent and door staff, and makes long term financial plans — but the ordinary stuff that residents do together, from caroling parties at Christmas to excursions to Broadway theater (or the beach in summer), are organized by the residents themselves and announced simply by somebody sticking a note up on the bulletin board in the lobby. Same with a lot of minor issues that someone wants dealt with. You would like folks to stop parking their bikes in the hallway that leads to the basement storage room, when there's a perfectly good bike room available if they'll just go a bit further along? Put it on the building board.
The Odyssey really reminds me of a floating co-op building. This is not a bad thing by any means — the co-op has its faults, but it's actually one of the better systems I've ever had the opportunity to live in.
One thing Azamara probably includes is the pools and hot tubs working full time. 😂
(I'm just teasing the Odyssey a bit, don't get your feathers ruffled.)

Since a ship is your home, a more quiet, relaxed and understated ship beats any glitzy, sparkle light show many ships have. Those fancy Vegas looking floating cities are ok for a short jail but living that way 24/7 would wear me out and certainly be annoying.

Breaking it down to simple comparative unit pricing is how best to compare products. There aren't that many long distance cruises (around 6 months) so any others you can find would be useful. I'd like to see the comparisons with balcony cabins together with sq footage etc.
I noticed on another site a comment that the present pricing for the Asian components on VV is significantly less than the USA/Pacific segments. Not sure how this impacts your figures.
Finally a comparison based on solo travel could be useful given that mainstream cruise companies charge very high solo supplements.
TBH I'm surprised that VV management isn't all over this comparison sell equation.

Since Azamara is twice the Cost, it should be twice as good. You enjoyed AZ, and they enjoyed your Money, and again 3 more times that same year, for 3 sets of Passengers.
