Vande Bharat Sleeper: Delhi to Srinagar in just 13 hours!
Indian Railways has introduced the Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat train, set to cover over 800 kilometers in just 13 hours. The train will depart from Delhi at 7:00 PM and arrive in Srinagar by 8:00 AM the next day.

Indian Railways is preparing to connect Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, directly with Delhi via the highly anticipated Vande Bharat Sleeper Train.
This new train service aims to bridge the gap between the valley and the rest of India, with operations likely to begin by January 2025.
The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is designed for long-distance overnight travel, offering a faster and more affordable travel option to the picturesque valley.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled the prototype of this train in September 2024, which is being manufactured by BEML.
Once the railway line to Srinagar becomes operational, travel time to the valley is expected to be significantly reduced from the current 20 hours to just 13 hours, revolutionising the journey.
This development is anticipated to boost tourism and strengthen the local economy by improving connectivity.

Distance and travel time:
The train will cover a distance of approximately 800 kilometres in under 13 hours, utilising the USBHL project route currently under development.
Schedule and stops:
The train will depart from New Delhi at 7:00 PM and arrive in Srinagar by 8:00 AM the following day. Major stops along the route include Ambala Cantt Junction, Ludhiana Junction, Kathua, Jammu Tawi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Sangaldan, and Banihal.
Ticket pricing:
Passengers can choose from three accommodation classes: AC 3 Tier (3A), AC 2 Tier (2A), and AC First Class (1A). The expected ticket prices are approximately Rs 2,000 for 3A, Rs 2,500 for 2A, and Rs 3,000 for 1A.
This initiative is set to transform how people travel to Kashmir, making the journey quicker, more comfortable, and more accessible than ever before.
