Discover Japan in January : Journey from Okinawa to Mount Fuji

A new year is opening
A time for tradition
Welcome in January ❄️

Welcome to the third episode of our Month in Japan series. Between the first visit to the temple, and the coming of age day. January in Japan is a time for tradition.

If you’re planning to visit Japan in January, the first week can be pretty busy with bank holidays. Be ready to spend some extra cash during this week. The rest of the month is quite a good time to visit without the crowd.
Snow is quite rare in Tokyo, usually one or two days a year so do not expect to see any in the metropolis. But if you have this chance, Tokyo is magic-covered in white.

January offers clear, sunny skies, perfect for breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji with its snow-capped peak. Winter in Japan is calm yet vibrant, with stunning landscapes and serene moments around every corner.

Locations featured:

Tokyo
Kawaguchi (Yamanashi)
Okinawa
Mt Ishizuchi (Ehime)
