Kitakyushu
The journey through Kyushu begins here in Kitakyushu, the city of the north. I will be spending most of my day in the city center, walking around the castle area. Our tour of the city will include a stroll through Katsuyama Park, a stop in at Yasaka Shrine, a look out over the castle gardens, and finally a tour of Kokura Castle. I wrap things up by hitting the streets, following through five stages of an adventure lab, before rising to the top of Miyakojima for a view out over the city. Just ahead of the failing light of the day we move over to the city of Fukuoka where we climb to the top of the castle ruins in Maizuru Park just in time to catch a brilliant sunset.
