Exploring Kyushu – Beppu to Yufuin (Day 5, with Wei) | Ghibli & Floral village, Showa Era Museum
Our last day in Beppu…not starting very well with a big fail at mount Tsurumi (and the ropeway is expensive)
On our way to Kumamoto, we stopped by Yufuin, we thought we would stay only a few hours, but we ended up staying there the WHOLE day. I wanted to have some time in an onsen, but there was no time left for that. Usually a shopping hater, the Ghibli store, Japanese craft museum and other shops somehow hijacked my brain
For lunch, we ate toriten and it’s been the best fried chicken, possibly of my life ?
Thereafter, Showa Era Museum was the highlight of this trip, not a big museum, but super well organized, great atmosphere and a lot of fun
Then, it was almost night, so we had to hurry to Kirin lake for some final breathtaking views. Thereafter, took the car to Kumamoto, and we arrived to our both stylish & traditional guesthouse : Gootarian
The host is very nice, there’s a bar/izakaya, we could not enjoy it as we were too tired…but it looks great ! Better have a car though
After that, we will go to Aso-Kuju national park, but that’s the next video…
