December 21, 2007 Day 20: Tokyo
We spent the day in Tokyo shopping to help Tony begin adjusting to the time change. He was interested in getting information on the job and housing opportunities here, so we visited the Kimi Information Center in Ikebukuro, a well-known placement service for foreigners. Nearby was the Kimi Ryokan, one of my favorite Japanese inns, that caters to foreigners. The Ryokan is popular among new arrivals as a place to stay while they look for more permanent accommodations. In the afternoon, we headed for Nagoya, a major hub for trips to destinations in the central Japan Alps.
