πŸ‘˜ Wear kimono and walk around a beautiful old Japanese village πŸ‘˜

One of Fukushima’s most popular sightseeing spots, the traditional old hamlet of Ouchi-juku was once a rest stop for samurai marching between Tsurugajo Castle in Aizu and the capital at Edo (now Tokyo). Famous for its thatched roofs, Ouchi-juku looks largely the same as it did hundreds of years ago, and you can take fantastic photos from the overlook above the village.

This kimono experience is a great chance to learn about Japan’s famous clothing, be dressed by a kimono expert, and eat traditional cuisine. In addition to several charming restaurants, Ouchi-juku has many stalls where you can meet local shopkeepers and browse their wares – in particular there is a great selection of folk art and Japanese snacks.

πŸš— 40 min drive from Aizu-Wakamatsu City

Bookings can be made on the Fukushima Travel website, or search ‘Ouchi-juku Kimono Experience’!
