As we were leaving Sapporo, a blizzard hit Hokkaido which cancelled trains, buses and flights. We had to stay in Sapporo for another night and we catch the next available train the following day. The first train to leave was at 1 pm and the train was packed. We were lucky to have seats. The train was bound for Hakodate where we catch the Shinkansen bound for Tokyo. However, halfway in our travel, the train could not move on and we were all transferred to buses. It was late in the evening when we arrived in Hakodate. No Shinkansen travelling anymore. A nice Japanese woman sitting behind us on the train offered us a room in her house. She taught us to make our futon bed, served us, Japanese home cook meals and drove us to the station to catch our train. Friendship was formed. We felt blessed. The video is all about this.
