⁴ᴷ Saitama: Irumashi Station (埼玉県: 入間市駅) – Japan Walking Tour (August, 2024)
Over the weekend, I visited Gunma Prefecture and Nagano Prefecture, and on the way back, I stopped by a town in western Saitama Prefecture. After visiting Hanno Station, I made my way to Iruma City Station. From the station, I walked through a shopping street that led to a large commercial facility with a United Cinemas. This area, which can be considered the town center with a department store and other commercial facilities, had a somewhat quiet atmosphere. As I walked further along the street, I noticed from the map that it was part of the Nikko Waki Okan, a historical road that connected Hachioji to Nikko. This road was used by the Hachioji Sen’nin Doshin as they traveled to Nikko for their duties, so it must have seen a fair amount of foot traffic in the past.
