Mesopotamia?
The earthquake by itself isn't the scariest part.
It's the follow-up disasters of tsunami(s), aftershocks, fires, extreme temperatures (either hot or cold), and whatnot that really makes one hope the disaster relief is ready for whatever.
I've never heard about preppers in Japan, but I'm sure there are some with bunkers full of generators and enough canned food to feed a small village for weeks.
The alert was called off a few days ago.
Pete saying Americans fly like we are getting a taxi. Nah dude no TSA before getting into a Taxi. US is not all wound up in general like getting your bloomers in a bunch over someone cutting the line. And if you are certain complexion going through TSA will not be fun for you.
Prayer works! π
dunno if the standards are higher in Japan but McDonald's coffee is brown water
πSeveral years ago, I was running late for a flight from Iwakuni to Tokyo. Living on the base there, it was about a 10 minute taxi to the terminal; I managed to get from my room and into my seat on the plane in about 30 minutes.π I don't think I could ever do that in the US, even at similar sized airports.
I really enjoy watching your Cyclothons with Conner for mostly the Sights, which, even when you guys are struggling, you all take the time to take it in. I really loved Iga(I believe that's what it was called) the whole, 'birthplace of Ninja' it was really pretty.
Same thing here in Lisbon. We supposedly are already late for the big one. Of course when it happenned back in 1755 it was catastrophic because of the fires and tsunamis. Lisbon is not exactly prepared for it but I do believe the damage would be always less considering the fact that houses at the time were all wood and things are sturdier now.
I really enjoy your documentaries and wish you all the best for Lost π
When Chris walks in everyone shouts his name and a blonde woman says, "Christopher."
that was my story π – woooo
i did not see any emperor or empress, just got the hell out of the crowd
I've been planning my first JP trip for the last 2 years, I arrive in 3 weeks time. I imagine that the mega quake will actually come to fruition at that time when I land because I'm so fat.
Let's see. People not sure if the gacha machine is the door/entrance. Gacha machine heavy and difficult to move. Hmm?
Obvious solution. Employ a large muscular foreign gentleman as a doorman. If the hopefuls look cool he could ask them "Lost?" And if they reply yes, he could ceremoniously open the door and usher them into the hidden paradise. Put an extra JPY100 on each drink to pay for him. The punters will love it!
hope you are char are safe with the typhoon!
That was funny, Pete forgot the word 'alert' and said they issued the megaquake…
Chris i tired to go to Lost yesterday, but the mf was closed. Today is my last day here in JP. Have a shot for me, yea?
Chris, I'm not a reader but I purchased your book and was addicted, the first book I've finished in my adult life and I'm 32 lol….
The "From the tower" thing must be that his last name is "De La Torre" which literally translates to that π
Could this earthquake warning be a government ploy to restrict the number of tourists flooding Japan. After the warning was issued, there was a wave of hotel cancellations.
So people come all the way there and then leave without looking up online how to open the door?
