  1. Another reason for not travel to Japan. First price hike for JR Pass then higher prices of dishes in restaurants for tourists and now this.

  2. I’m not going to lie. I was at mt Fuji 2 days ago and I can confidently say that mt Fuji is not a hard mountain to climb. Although I can say that if you plan on going take goggles ( I went on a day where there was a storm on the peak which caused winds of over 80kmph , therefore the little sands and rocks get into your eyes ( even if you have glasses ))

  3. Here are some of the major behaviors of foreign tourists climbing Mount Fuji that have been criticized in Japan, explained in detail:

    ・Disregarding local rules and customs
Foreign tourists sometimes do not follow the specific guidelines and rules for climbing Mount Fuji. This includes not staying on designated trails, which can cause environmental damage and increase the risk of accidents.

    ・Littering and Environmental Impact
One of the major problems is littering. Despite efforts to keep the mountain clean, some tourists leave trash behind, which not only detracts from the natural beauty, but also poses a threat to local wildlife and the environmen

    ・Unpreparedness and safety concerns
Many tourists embark on the climb without proper preparation, such as inadequate clothing, lack of proper equipment, or lack of physical fitness. This can lead to dangerous situations that require rescues and strain local resources.

    ・Disrespect for cultural sites
Mount Fuji is considered a sacred site in Japan, and there are specific cultural and religious practices associated with it. Some tourists may be unaware of these customs and inadvertently show disrespect, such as making noise in quiet areas or climbing during off-peak hours.

By addressing these issues, it's possible to promote a more respectful and enjoyable experience for everyone involved in climbing Mount Fuji.

  4. Hi! I understand that a climbing plan is required during off-season from the Yamanashi website but it did not really specify it clearly whether it is required or not required during climbing season (July to September).

Can I check with you if the Climbing Plan is required during the Climbing Season (July to September)?

    Thank you!
