There’s always so much to include in Japan News! This time is no exception – there are new shops, including a new anime figure store in Akihabara called Amiami Akihabara Figure Tower, a Suica penguin shop, plus cute theme cafes – as well as a themed planetarium featuring Sumikko Gurashi and kawaii, themed Sanrio hotel rooms. There are exhibitions featuring Studio Ghibli, Hello Kitty, Hatsune Miku and Clamp, the manga artists. There are several stamp rallies in Tokyo and on the shinkansenline. Also in train news, there’s Dr Yellow’s retirement, a Welcome Suica app for tourists, a new night train and lots more!

Another great video Amy, thanks a lot for it. Most of the news dont really are for me, as on my next trip to Japan in March 2025, we will spend 4 weeks in Tohoku (I cant wait for it ;-)), but its still great to see what is happening and changing.
Btw: your guidebook is great and so different (in a good way) from "normal" guidebooks. And I really like your shark t-shirt.

I enjoy watching your videos and hearing about the upcoming events in Japan. I am not going to Japan until next year but still find it interesting to hear upcoming news. I am excited for the expo and plan to go as it is something a bit different that is time limited and I would probably be disappointed if I miss it. I look forward to getting your guidebook for next year if the information is half as good as your videos I know I am in for a treat. It will be my first trip and I am trying really hard not to cram too much in and prioritise what is most relevant to me. Thanks for taking the time to share so much of your trips.

I'm so happy, my favorite band, Band-Maid just announced their tour dates for the autumn: They will play at Zepp Haneda on Nov 25 and 26. I've joined the fan club lottery for tickets both days. I went to the Amiami Akihabara Figure Tower today on opening day. I was expecting to line up to get in but there was no line up and the store wasn't particularly busy. Floors 1 to 3 are the same as they were before (I also went there 2 days ago). Floors 4 to 7 were, as expected, more anime figures with the figures getting more risque as you went up the floors. Half of floor 7 was X-rated. Floor 8 was an event floor and it didn't open until 2 pm and I honestly forgot to return after eating a big lunch.
There is also a stamp rally going on in Akihabara now for those interested.
Absolutely going to be in Osaka during Expo 2025. Expo events are so much fun and one in Japan would be a unforgettable lifetime experience!
