Injured on Mount Fuji and left behind from my mountain guides

hello and welcome back to my channel my name is Marina and here in my channel we are talking about history Disney and Japan in general as you may be noticed I haven’t upload some of my um Japan videos I will do this in the future but in today’s video I want to talk about what had happened to me on Mount food Tre so first of all my holiday started with a nightmare in Dubai but it was an easy fix but it was quite a shock because I did Dune bashing as you know this is you are going with an SUV in the desert and going down the dunes and during the stune bashing our driver was whisking a little bit too much and yeah we lost one wheel it was nearly 50° C hot during the day no Shadows we had to leave the car because they needed to fix it we waited for nearly 15 minutes so some other guys could come and help us they were able to fix it but yeah it’s quite an adventure when you are stranded in the desert and your car is broken down but as I said everything was fixed and I will make a Dubai video on my own I was pretty um impressed by Dubai and I really would recommend visiting this beautiful city but this is another topic the first week of my Japan trip was also pretty nice I had a lot of fun and then I tried to conquer Mount fui and this is where everything went downhill pretty fast and my view of Japan had changed and I near really really need to let it sink down and make up my mind afterwards because at the moment it’s still a lot of emotions and I’m pretty mad about the tour but grab yourself a tea a snack or something similar to this and I will talk about what had happened so as I maybe told you I booked a group tour and it had a reason because I’m on my own and I wanted to be in a group in case something is happening to me stupid idea because I would be far way better off if I had to if I did the attempt on my own because the group was the people were nice most of them were foreigners but the problem was none of of the mountain guides or the tour guide or the bus driver was able to speak English so no information in English available but yeah we had a lot lot of fun driving to the fifth station so everything was fine and as you know I have a disability my foot had before the accident severe injury but I did a lot of CrossFit and did the SP ways so I was definitely able to walk Mount fui I did the ever with space t a few years ago so this was not the problem but I’m not the fastest one I’m a little snail who is climbing up the hill will reach the top but will never be there in the um will never win the way I will always be the last little turtle who is running behind everyone else but I think it doesn’t matter because I reach my goal my goal is not to be the fastest or the best my goal is just to reach the top but this was the first problem with the group we were a few guys who were in The far Were Far Behind of the group it was not only me there were a handful of people who were climbing pretty slow and the mountain guide started to get annoyed of us they were pushing us we were climbing for 10 hours without a break every time we reached the station I wanted to sit down just to take a few little breaks breath but it was not allowed we were pushed to climb on and at the 7th and a half station there was a tury people were taking pictures and the crew was getting pretty insane and long and they forc us to go around so we can um go um climb and get away from the crowd and this was a bad idea I had my walking sticks and I felt okay on the track that was normally used by all the people it was still a challenge but it was okay but I missed the lava stone I slipped and I broke my ankle or to a band it’s the same world I wasn’t able to climb anymore I was able to reach the next station and it now I’m laughing about it but at the moment I was just like are you serious are you serious I paid 400 for this tour and you are doing this to me so I reached the seven station and I was like I can’t climb anymore I need to go down and I I won’t finish the climb it’s my decision I can’t make it his response was do you have cash with you I said yeah I have yeah then stay here at the eight station and yeah this was it he helped me to get a bed it was the last bed in at the station I paid a lot more money than I was um thinking about spending on Mount fui 150 uh Euros for a night in the Hut the station was lovely the people at the station were lovely they didn’t really realized what really had happened at that moment so my Mountain guide just left me behind without a phone number to call or anything he just said yeah we are going I have to go I need to catch up with the group and yeah they left me behind injured I had was in a lot of pain and nobody cared so the mountain hut tell told me there was no way that they can um get help at the moment because it started to get dark and I was like okay it’s fine I have iuin with me it’s okay for the night so I am getting got in contact with the tour guide and said um what should we do I need to get down this mountain and he was like yep I will send you a guide and you will climb down for one hour a tough climb down and then you will have to pay €300 to get on a horse and ride back to the fifth station and then it’s your problem to get back to Tokyo and I was like what do I have to do so at the moment I was like okay I’m just taking a nap and we will see tomorrow he promised me that the guide will pick me up at 5:30 at 7:30 no one was there so the people from the station as I said were really really nice they tried to help as much as they could they taped my foot and yeah it helped a little bit but yeah then my Mountain guide arrived and after a few steps I was like nope nope I don’t want to fall down the mountain I’m a whisk to everyone else who’s coming down if I am falling there was no way and he was complaining complaining complaining and I was like okay that’s it I’m calling my insurance company the insurance company was so shocked about the situation and was like why did no one call 911 and I was like I don’t know so I told my T we are calling 911 and they yeah but you have to pay for it and I was like yeah this this is why I have an insurance for kind when I’m traveling so people can help me when I’m get injured so yeah this was quite a nightmare to fix everything so they called the mountain wue and they wanted to get € 4,000 in cash to get me down the mountain and to the fifth station there was an ambulance waiting and I was like no this is not happening my Japanese is okay but it was not good enough to talk to the people about this kind of medical stuff and I was like no my insurance is covering for it so I called my insurance company they had a Japanese translator and they paid for the transport right away so they got their money at the spot and they helped me down the mountain I will um make a video about the little qua that helped me down the mountain this was quite fun I tried to enjoy it because say if your situation is well uh really bad just try to enjoy the moments that are not that bad so the driver was really really nice it was one hour getting down and I was like what if someone is really really injured in this mountain and they told me yeah they are going to die and I was like yeah nice so now helicop cter pick up or something like this no not on Mount fui then the next disaster happened so the ambulance was pretty nice everything was all right um with Google translate we were able to communicate with each other they were polite they helped me it was really really nice but they brought me to the wrong hospital my insurance company didn’t know the hospital that took me to and the hospital don’t deal with my insurance company plan and they didn’t like for us and yeah they did eight x-rs way too much for this kind of injury but yeah the stupid Foreigner will pay for it and yeah man shon’s company called them too late so they started um all of the medical stuff already and they after this he just gave me gave me a tape and said yeah there’s nothing really I can do for you I was like yeah kind really nice I’m sitting here at the middle of nowhere on the bottom of Mount fui and you don’t even give me crotches happy happy happy really really wonderful situation and then they said I need to pay immediately for all the costs nearly €10,000 and I was like nope I don’t do this they wanted to have my credit card and I was like no I’m not paying this amount of money here because I have an insurance and if you don’t accept the payment this is not my fault and so our English Japanese translator from my insurance company was calling them again and it took them three hours to figure out how my company could pay all of the bills 3 hours but there was the next problem how should I can go back to Mount H to Tokyo from Mount fui I was not able to move without cratches the doctor the hospital was closed at that time it closed down at 5:00 p.m. so my insurance company sent an ambulance from Tokyo it took them three hours to get them they picked me up and in Tokyo every hospital was saying no we’re not taking this forner every single hospital they call nearly every hospital so they brought me back to my hotel room for the night and as I told you I was in a kind in between hotel and hostel so toilet was not the problem it was just um in front of my door but the showers was one stock below one floor below and yeah it was 35° I hadn’t SLE sleep for 48 hours I was sweating I was in tears and yeah I was not able to go to the shower the next day they found an orthopedic clinic in Tokyo the doctor was really nice it was a quite nice coincident his daughter is working in my hometown and he has a Sailing Boat here in ke so it was quite funny but he saw the x-way and he was like I’m not not sure if um it’s broken because of your disability of your injury your athritis is looking really really bad I’m not sure if it’s getting bad if it’s from the accident or if your foot is severely damaged at all um just before the accident and he was like I think the best thing is that a doctor in Germany is looking at this my insurance company had a doctor and the x-rays were so bad it’s so funny to laugh about it but the equipment was from um 50 years ago so it was way too light they couldn’t make a diagnosis from the x-rays in Japan and yeah they tried to found another hospital but no hospital was able to take me or willing to take me is the better way to put it so the ambulance took me back to my toil room and my insurance company tried their best to get me into another hospital but it was just not happening and they were like okay we are done here you will go business class with L hunza tomorrow back to Germany and ambulance is picking you up from the airport and then you will go straight to your hospital in your hometown sounds like a good plan the flight was pretty nice it was really fun and yeah at Hamburg airport I had of course someone who was helping me with a wheelchair from the gate to the luggage belt and then they she said I need the wheelchair I don’t care what is happening now to you I was like I’m not able to pick up my bags so I need help and she left so there were a few police girls I called them and I was like yeah my ambulance is waiting outside so anything you need to make sure that they come inside and help me and this was not a problem at all so they picked me up they picked all my stuff up it was three luggage pieces three suitcases and a big bag and an umbrella and they were like crazy girl yeah I did a little bit of shopping but yeah so we were driving 2 K to the next hospital it’s nothing my insurance company did a good job they really did I didn’t have to pay a single scent but they sent me to a hospital that was not specialized let’s place it this way in this kind of inja we see and kill I showed up there at 3:00 in the night my insurance company made sure that I got a bed and everything but they just didn’t care they just look at my foot and they were like it’s 3:00 in the night we not dealing with it off you go and they sent me home yes without even looking at my foot they sent me home and I was like lovely to be back in Germany lovely so at the next morning I got to the next hospital but as I said the injury before I had on my foot was an injury that was happening during a work accident and if you getting injured during a work accident here in Germany there were special hospitals special doctors and normal doctors are not allowed to this kind of injury the hospital had the allowance to work accidents but because my injury was so severe they were not allowed to take me he was just looking at my injuries and he was like yeah this is the highest scale of inj injuries that someone can have lucky me I’ve got my foot so severely damaged that it’s the highest case that is possible before amputation I’m proud of myself at least there I reached the top yeah just trying to cope I think so he was like I can’t tweet the injury I don’t know as the doctor in Japan if it is happened because of the accident of Mount fui or maybe it was worken up before because your foot is such a whack and yeah it was not his fault he was really really nice then I called the specialized T Hospital in Hamburg and the girl working at the phone was a nightmare to deal with because she just didn’t care she was yelling at me and she was like I need all of your records and I was like yeah do you speak Japanese I can give you them in Japanese and the xways are so bad I can give them to you and the report from the hospital in ke they need to write it just ask them and they will fix send you a fox with all the information she just wasn’t interested she was starting yelling at me again I need to go to the emergency room and I was like the accident is now one week ago go I’m not going with an old injury to an emergency room and it’s 100 miles away I don’t have crutches how do you think I coming to Hamburg I am not willing to pay 400 for a taxi so what is your plan and again she started yelling at me and I was like I’m so done I’m so done I haven’t sleept in one week and I’m jetlagged I’m in pain please don’t piss me off any further please please so I called the working accident insurance company and they finally were able to help me they got me an appointment the day after with a weab person from the insurance company and they were able to manage to get me an MI at the two days after the um on the appointment day so they made sure that everything was done on that day and I went to the appointment and the band on my ankle was only um pretty much stretched so not torn this is a good news I think and no new injuries on my foot it was only pretty pretty beds winkled it’s enough pain that you’re not able to go down the mountain and because the foot was so severe injured before it was putting pressure on all of the instable bones and everything on the foot and this was causing the pain so we decided enough is enough um in two weeks time I will go for two days to the hospital and we will check out out with joints are causing the pain with infiltration and then we will just do another surgery and make sure the stiffing is getting B good this time putting there a lot of plates and nails and holding all this Miss mess together and I was like I’m done let’s do it if I’m able to walk afterwards again without painkillers the rest of my life because at the moment I need painkillers and morphine just to walk on a daily basis and I don’t want to do this anymore and this accident was like okay I’m ready to get this treatment after 14 years the accident the initial accident is 14 years ago and I don’t want that something like this is happening again so let’s do it and yeah it’s funny but it’s not not my foot wasth the burst part I injured on M fui I did broke my knee and I didn’t realize it I didn’t even have had pain in my knee the doctor was just like yeah let’s shake your knee sometimes when you’re spraying your ankle and roll your foot your knee can break and I was like wouldn’t I feel it do you think I’m crazy I would I should feel if I broke my knee and I was laughing at him and he was making an xway and he was like yeah it’s not a bad it’s not bad it’s just slightly broken but you broke your kneecap and I was like you’re are F of kidding me and I was like no I couldn’t B why no one was just was even looking at my knee because no one thought that this would be a possibility only he was thinking about it and he was right so I am pretty lucky he did do the W um x-ray of the knee but yeah it’s not bad it will heal um in a few weeks time so nothing to do about it but as I said we will do my foot in the future and yeah I have a plan for my future maybe I’m sharing it with you because the first the business class flight with L tanza was such an amazing experience for me and as you know I love planes and L tanza was like yeah you love planes do you want to go to the cockpit after we landed from the B 747 and I was like this would be my dream come true and yeah I was able to talk to the pilots I told them that I’m a chesna pilot by myself and I love Aviation and it would have been my dream to become a pilot and they were like yeah why are not you are not doing it and I said yeah because I’m too old now I can’t become a commercial pilot can I and they were like there was no age restriction anymore and at the moment at our flight school there are people that are 45 that are starting their career in aviation so yeah just apply to the L tza flight Academy and I will make sure that they know your name I will take make a nice note of you and yeah then you should be able to start next year and become a pilot so I applied there’s only one step between me and um the pilot school it’s a test I need to take next month in Hamburg and it’s a pretty hard test it’s called DLR test and it’s for Pilots it’s psychological G it’s about English it’s about physics math everything is tested it’s an eight hour long test and most of PE of the people failed it but if you are able to complete all the tasks that they give you you can start at their Flight Academy and you need to pay a little bit of the fees but most of the piece piece is um covered by L tanza and um you need to make they need to make sure that you will work at least for 10 years as a pilot for their Airlines so no applying for another Airlines so you will pay for the fees when you are working as a pilot for them so I have nothing to lose it’s my dream to become an commercial airline pilot so why don’t try it the worst thing is that I am failing the test the next worst thing is that I’m failing at the pilot school but I’m a journalist I’m a good journalist I will find work every time I want to so I will let you be part of the adventure of becoming a pilot in the future and take you with me during the surgery and during the time in the hospital and during the time with the test next week so you have a little bit of content of my private life and as I said holiday videos with Dubai and Japan Japan are coming and I have a few videos about the history here in Germany as well planned so a lot of content is coming in the next weeks here on my channel I’m so happy that people like all of you are watching my content it’s pushing me and I’m really looking forward to make me more videos because it’s fun I know they are not high quality but it’s just a way for me to share my stories because as you may be noticed by this point my life is crazy and if I can Inspire one person not to give up if you are in a similar situation like me I know it’s really easy to lose your mind but just push through you will be fine at the end I promise and I started just a few days ago at a new CrossFit box here in ke so if you like I will make a few videos about CrossFit and the new box and show you a few tips how you can get started with the spot and I’m so sore at the moment I’m not able to train my leg but I promise you my coach finds a way to make me suffer without using my using my leg and he promised me when they do a new stiffing I will need to walk on crutches for at least 8 to 10 weeks and he was like no way that you are just sitting on your couch you can train without your leg you will come here every day so you w’t started to get depressed you are under people and you are staying fit and I think I will do this and yeah I don’t think that I want to be a journalist anymore but this is not a decision that is coming from out of nowhere I made this decision to be honest a long time ago because my work environment is not that great and to have a chance to become a pilot is so amazing and as I said otherwise I just would apply to go in another Direction with journalism maybe history journalism but but not news and and Daily Business journalism because it’s sucking my soul out of my body to be with me during all the time of surgeries and recovery time and looking forward to share my Japan videos with you and yeah one last thing I wanted to mention I applied for the Disney program again so I will start at Disney and January February I will move to the United States again and work for the company at Epcot at the German Pavilion so this would be a perfect Gap year because uh between January and the start of the pilot school because I want to give me a lot of time to catch up with math and physics and all the stuff because they are my weakness and if I have one year to learn and just to make sure everything is in my brain would be better than just starting the school right away and fail so I want to take give me one year time to um make sure that I’m able to finish all the tests on the best level POS possible and this is the same thing Lun told me if I’m able to get through the test in one month time I will be in the flight school in one and a half years years from now so I can do the Disney program for one year without even thinking about it and I think this is the way life wanted me to go to so maybe the accident needed to happen so we can fix my foot now for good so there was time for Recovery no wash I don’t need to say h i need to start working again and here and then because my employees will um just turn me but this is not going to happen and as I said because it’s a working accident my insurance company will pay my full loan during all the time of recovery and surgery for half a year so half a year of recovery then Disney and then the pilot school this is the
