Hey everyone, Ojisan here! It’s already Day 12 of our Japan adventure, and it’s 9:50 in the morning. Today’s weather forecast is calling for rain, but that’s not stopping us! We are heading to Lalaport shopping mall in Fukuoka to check out the giant Gundam statue. Later, we will explore Mojiko Retro, a charming heritage district from the Meiji era in Kyushu’s northernmost port town. Stick around for some bonus footage at the end of the video! To get to Lalaport, we’ll head to Hakata Bus Terminal, just outside Hakata Station to the right. From here, hop on one of the buses at platform 13. Check Google Maps for the quickest bus at the moment. The bus is nearly empty, it’s just us. It’s a nice ride when it is not packed with people. We have arrived at Lalaport, look at that giant Gundam-San. Lalaport is one of the largest shopping malls in Fukuoka, packed with shops and a park for kids. Plus, it’s the perfect spot to see a Gundam statue outside of Tokyo! After some shopping, we will return to Hakata Station and take a train to Mojiko Port Town. It’s 4:40 PM now, and the journey will take about 45 minutes with a change at Kokura Station. Here, we will switch from the Shinkansen to a local train on the Kagoshima Line. You can see on this map that, Mojiko is the northernmost town in Kyushu. On our way to the train, we spotted a souvenir shop that sells unique snacks in Kokura. We also found a tiny ramen spot right on the platform – you don’t see that every day in Japan! We have arrived in Mojiko Station. It has a nostalgic, romantic vibe to it. The architecture is beautifully preserved, making it one of Japan’s most picturesque stations. Inside, there’s a glowing ball and even a Starbucks café. There’s also a retro-style restroom. Now, let’s head to Mojiko Retro area. Here we are in front of Mojiko Station – isn’t it pretty? It’s still raining, but it’s light enough to not ruin our adventure. This area has been featured in many Japanese films, and I bet it’s gorgeous on a sunny day. Over there, you can see the bridge to Honshu Island, Japan’s main island. We are going to snap some photos! After wandering around, it’s time for dinner at an Indian restaurant. Something spicy is perfect for this chilly weather. Look at the night view here is breathtaking, and it’s such a romantic spot for couples. We have a set menu which consist of two type of curries and a nan bread with tandoori chicken. It’s getting late, so we’ll head back to Fukuoka now and enjoying the night city lights. Thanks for watching! In the next video, we’ll be enjoying a sunny day at Fukuoka’s best seaside park. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe. See you in the next video! This is the reality of travel; we must pack a lot in our small hotel with two large luggage and two small luggage. It is a shipwreck!
