A visit to Kobe and Nara in Japan
[Music] hi there good morning from Kobe Japan um we’re in Kansai region we’re trying to explore a few things around here um we just got to Kobe station so we’ll get out of the station and walk to the earthquake Memorial Center um so let’s go together let’s find the exit here um so there is another friend coming maybe we should go yeah it’s not very complicated station like Osaka station or Tokyo Station um it’s in the suburb of Osaka took about 30 minutes to get here so you can as you can hear um English is pretty much everywhere so that shouldn’t be a problem except the people don’t speak English that’s the thing yeah but they’re they’re getting there apparently schools have started teaching English so the Next Generation should be fine Japan Rail Pass has been really helpful everybody so getting the Japan Rail Pass allows you to you know just check that they are line everywhere you want to go all-inclusive okay let’s get out of this station and try to find our way to the Memorial Park is making a process she has a lot of Point here plus phone case that is is Japanese right it’s Japanese original ah no counterfeit that’s good it’s strong I like Japanese thing okay oh this is a Japanese maker yeah middle in China oh yeah yeah okay in Japan made in China okay it’s designed by Japanese but it meets the Japanese standard yeah yeah yeah yeah why did I buy Japanese stuff all right thank you let’s do it 2178 so you find one seven eight all good awesome thank you yeah the weather seems on and off today seems like it was raining until a few minutes ago let me put the navigation on as opposed to walking randomly around they said it was the way to Marcus Square hope this is Marcus Square I have no idea does Harbor Center so this is the view we wanted to check out in Kobe this is Port of Kobe just in front of us I think that’s the tower it’s I think they are renovating it somehow okay let’s head to let’s go towards mosaic and oh man all right so we got umbrella eventually I didn’t really want to buy umbrella but I didn’t have a choice so I gotta buy one let’s here is your Cafe if you want to have Cafe buddy do you want to have coffee in mosaic so I can see that little boat going up there no they stopped Port of Kobe okay let’s walk around even though the weather is not that very friendly I think it’s tapering off it’s on and off Oriental Hotel well the main purpose of coming to Kobe our objective is to go to that Memorial Park and see how must the earthquake impacted here just to see an example of how it destroyed the infrastructure of this city so I think we’re gonna go there let me put the navigation on I think I don’t think there is much to see here um if the weather was fine I was hoping to go to a patio bar and grab a drink and take a sip while looking at the view that was my plan but that doesn’t work all the time right what do you think um just enjoy the mother nature whatever she gives you no complaint can’t complain all right let me put the navigation on to the Memorial Park and let’s head there it shouldn’t take more than 10-15 minutes walk that’s my navigation telling me where to go I think it’s springtime in Japanese while everywhere the springtime is the amazing time in terms of the vegetation and all I think we have arrived at the memorial earthquake Memorial center almost the earthquake has devastated and there is a sample here let’s go and take a look um yeah this is the one I wanted to see yeah so that preserved it to show everybody how almost the earthquake can impact so this is the extent of the damage at the Port of Gobi by the massive earthquake they got back in 1995. which is not that far in the history well back back then you know I was I was in the broadcasting sector and every single time I was doing international news Kobe earthquake used to be the headline yeah now I know why it was headlined there [Applause] yeah what do you think Woody yeah this is the history we just acknowledge it [Applause] wow everything is and I just destroyed imagine the layer see the layer of the concrete it’s just uprooted okay I’m gonna turn off the video for now I’ll take some pictures around how’s that you know it’s pretty interesting as the ram tapered off and you can see the sunshine out there and in the meantime you can see the tourists coming out here everything happened together that’s interesting but I think this is pretty in a piece here let’s open the space it’s a good Park people come here for a variety of reasons yeah so what’s next should we you tell me what are you taking me next oh okay so you’re following me all right I’m gonna take you to Nara how’s that yeah you want to feed you want to pit the deers there let’s go to Nara park it takes about one hour by J.R training yeah it should rain because the weather is getting better now all right let’s head to Nara Park so we are back at kubi station seems like there is no direct line from Kobe to Nara at the point um so what do we have to do is we need to take this 1323 train to Osaka there we’ll change to Nara Line train simple as that [Music] this looks like pretty much outside of the city not very remote but small business Villages are around eventually sitting probably [Music] the next step is not just two of us here on this calendar tired of riding a train yeah walking around exploring different parts of Japan this is not a station exit let’s get out of this station and probably walk to another Park yeah there are some cabs let’s try them yeah thank you we would like to go to Nara Park yeah okay thank you do you need a map um I think I’m good for now thank you if you could drop us off there oh what do you have a paper map with you yeah oh is that right yeah can I borrow one yes unless you can give me one that’s that’s awesome thank you very much what is the relations between Nara and Niagara [Music] other sisters are the sister towns [Music] Niagara [Music] it’s focused this way so we got dropped off here at Nara Park and this is the scene foreign to the deers yeah they do the not yeah so you can buy trip here do you have the chains there yeah good oh what’s up buddy what’s up buddy what’s up what’s up buddy you want to eat yeah 200 200. yeah what’s up buddy hey hey you hey you yeah yeah yeah the ball yeah they borrow you yeah yeah yeah yeah they are well trend yeah Japanese greetings they
