today we are camping at muddy run in Holtwood Pennsylvania this Campground is pretty amazing there are so many activities here but before we share with you the activities at this Campground we had quite a trip getting here if you watched last week’s video you know that we were little bit overweight when we finally weighed our RV and so normally John and I would travel to a camp around together but we had to go separately I came straight from my job John works at home he left from home picked up the RV and then met us well he got caught in a ton of traffic on 695 now if any of you are familiar with the news recently the Key Bridge is part of a major roadway within the state of Maryland around the Baltimore City area this morning we are continuing to follow breaking news of the Key Bridge collapsing into the Patapsco River early this morning take a look at this video you can see on the left side of your screen a cargo ship crashes into the base of the bridge causing it to fall into the water we use that bridge quite often when we travel North because RVs are not allowed in the harbor or the Fort McHenry tunnel which are the two main tunnels that go north and south on 895 and 95 in Maryland so John got stuck in a lot of the traffic that’s being routed around our 695 Beltway to go north up 95 or up to 83 so an hour and a half after I arrived John finally came we found we have a great spot here we have wonderful neighbors it so far has been a great experience today we’re going to venture out a little bit before we spend time in the campground there is a fresh market that has been in existence since 7 130 it’s the oldest Fresh Market in the country it’s called the 1730 Lancaster market so we’re going to head out this morning and check it out it’s about 7:00 a.m. this Market opens at like 6:00 a.m. so hopefully it’s not too crowded by the time we get there [Music] [Music] you [Music] we don’t have anything like this I mean Baltimore has Marcus but used to be like this more like this you know this is great stuff I love it here all of our pies are made from scratch the owners make the hand pies at like 1:00 in the morning to be ready for Market my favorite pie that we have like in of all of our pies is our Stout Pub pie and that’s the best possible beef stew you’ve ever had with like actual Guinness in it in an all buttercrust pie just delicious look at [Music] those I love this I miss these kind of markets after shopping in the market we ventured down North Queen Street which was pretty empty that early in the morning this is stuff from all over you want to go in yeah some of this would be healthier than stuff here because I see some stuff from Asia and they don’t eat a lot of sugar no snacks for you of course the one store I see that I want to go in you open at 10: what time is it that’s uh oh we have to leave it’s an hour we’d have an hour and 10 minutes things are funny right it’s like we came in here they didn’t have a reservation this is a restaurant that we found right next to the market it’s called shot and bottle so they didn’t have any they didn’t have any tables cuz we didn’t have a reservation so I made a reservation while sitting at the bar which was kind of cool somebody cancelled we got in so we go back to just like make sure that we’re okay with the meter and we meet this most the most lovely couple oh my gosh they were so nice and so sweet and they give me their car hold on a second they got this church I don’t know if it’s what it’s like or anything it’s called the place for you but they were rich and Cathy sweet sweet people that’s what we love about camping so much is that like like you go these places and you just meet like the nicest people that you never would have come in in contact with so anyway our CRA is’s here and John is hungry yeah all right you know one of the best things about traveling that we find so many great places to eat I mean and we can get healthy food like this is a healthy breakfast you have a healthy breakfast the egg was perfect I like it this was a good choice yeah says it all it’s all gone yeah it was really good in downtown Lancaster in the historic district right next to the uh Market this place has really livened up since we got here hasn’t it yes a lot more people now and my Heir has really fre up since we’ve gotten here and it’s only 10 it’s not even 10:30 yet oh my goodness when we were walking around earlier joh noticed a snack shop that had all different types of cookies and candies from different places around the world so we’re going to see if we can get in if it’s open since we’re here a little bit later than we plan if we can check this [Music] out hello oh no no no International snack shop if you have questions in a local grocery store on our way back to the campground picking up some supplies and I can’t believe what I just saw I’ve never seen one of these before put that what does it [Music] do don’t mind me I’m working to keep your store clean and and safe I have never seen one of these before John have you no see all the things we get to see while camping our bagger who looked like she was about 18 he saw this popping corn and said oh this is popcorn I’ve never seen it like this before I don’t know if that means we’re old or I I I don’t know what that means you’re get it all all right so we got some really nice broccoli this is like some of the nicest broccoli I’ve seen in a long long time I think we did really well I mean all kinds of fruits and veggies we’re going to eat well John living I don’t know what oh what’s in here potato no oh pears oh the pears app yeah have the fruits and the bags okay no this is not apples what is this oh yeah what these were so pretty these Tomatoes oh my gosh these tomatoes are gorgeous we know the area we live in I don’t know what it is or why it is but we don’t seem to get fresh fruits and vegetabl I mean we get fresh fruit we get fruits and vegetables in our Supermarket but they don’t look like this they just don’t look this good oh my gosh we got a couple different types of pairs I love pairs they’re great snacks what else oh this is some apple butter and of course it couldn’t all be good some bourbon pecan pie yes and John got an apple turnover turnover yeah and we’ll enjoy those for dessert tonight yes and of course it wouldn’t be a camping trip for us if we didn’t go hiking this Trail is horrible it should have like it should be paved it should have a railing over here so I don’t fall and hurt myself you want pillows John that might help I’m tired you want a bubble to wrap around you John nice big air bubble I roll my way through this hike I’m sure you did worse than this when you in the Marine Corps come on no that was sand and mud all right to catch up everybody up we decided to try out the trail at this Campground muddy run this is the what is this is this the lake what is it called the lake bridge Lake Shore Lake whatever Lake Shore Trail Lake Shore Trail and it goes around the lake it’s a kind of a mix trail so John is complaining because it’s not flat stay there it’s not paved whoops and John’s got to step on stuff like this this is not the worst part the worst part was back there where you couldn’t tell where the trail was it wasn’t too bad you couldn’t see it it’s not too bad I mean look look down that trail it’s a little bumpy yeah okay look this is great they have a bench and a trash can so it it’s great no but look I mean this is real look look look look look at this view as you can sit down at this bench this is nice now sit down there John take a load off relax you’ve had a very traumatic hike so far this that feel better oh look at this and this is John’s view from this Trail how how in the world could you complain about something like that this is really peaceful and tranquil and nice I really enjoy something like this and there are lots of fish in the water you see Fish no but there’re fishermen out here it is nice path was blocked by these two trees here see the roots yeah they kind of took a fall they did so now I’ve got to climb over this with my sprained braced up Ankle enjin John on the other side back in the day I could just hop over these things I know right I’m too old and too fat now oh good grief there you go oh my God I’m afraid I’m going to fall holy cow you’re making kids this is so easy old and it’s like I can’t do it I’m scared I’m going to fall and break something well see you made it fine I did I did all right thanks for being my protector John no problem Oh Goose poo yeah I don’t want you stepping on the I didn’t know what you were talking about yeah see so John huh what happened here what did we get lost a little we just left the trail for a bit that’s why it got so uh rough yeah it got pretty bad show us your your walking stick oh I broke it into smaller pieces your walking stick that’s what’s left nice John this was supposed to be like a 2 and 1 half mile hike yeah but we’ve been walking way more than that yeah it’s been a long time I think this is the worst hike we have ever been on yeah usually I just I think we both been rolling our ankle like crazy and I’ve got a sprained ankle with a brace on it but still this was not what we bared this is not what we expected no I mean it’s been beautiful we got to see wildlife got some bees deer windy now but we’re tired we’re hungry and sore and we’re sore and all I can think about is going back getting some Al yeah icing our joints and having some dinner yeah John and I are still recovering from our walk yesterday oh my gosh I can’t say anything more about that but we’re all ay anyway just realized that we haven’t shown you the site yet so let’s go take a look and see what the sites look like here at muddy run it is a little bit chilly today that’s okay no it’s not that’s John you hear off there in the background it’s cold down here it is it’s a little chilly so we are in site 20 the SES are a pretty good size they have electric and water they do not have sewer but there is a dump station on the way in and the way out so that you can take care of dumping that yucky stuff one thing’s a little bit weird about about these sites is that the electrical and the water are shared so the electrical can be quite far from you depending on what side you are and what site you’re in and as the same thing with the water Yeah in our in our case it was on the uh actual Camp side for our electrical and water so I had to run everything around the back of the rig and what was it about 30 ft of electrical that we needed yeah something like that and how how long of a hose did we need our hose fit but how long is it uh we have extra hose there so I forget how long our hose is but we we had plenty of space the water is a little closer now one thing you’ll notice about this spot is that you know we have a 36t RV this spot was exactly 36 ft so if you come here you have to tell them the accurate size of your RV now we have a little bit of space up front but that’s only because back here we went a little further further over in the rear here you’re were really surprised if you have a kid this is a really nice place to Camp there is a splash pad there’s the lake of course where you can take out kayaks and uh paddle boats there’s only uh non-motorized boats allowed on the lake then there’s also a little side area with some steps that lead down into the water under the bridge which is very very shallow and the kids can play we saw a few dogs running around in the water are having a great time also there is an observatory which they have events on certain nights disc golf soccer golf which I never heard of before just so many different things that you can do there’s a really awesome playground actually several playgrounds that are scattered throughout the park there is a snack shop with an awesome view of the lake and it’s a very very small camp store but they can provide your very basic needs if you forgot something what you snacking on John these are supposed to be was it Kobe no Angus I think steak chips let me see they say that they are Kobe Kobe steak flavor oh those are the ones we got from the little shop in Lancaster in Lancaster yeah that the foreign snake next do you want to try one how are they I don’t know I don’t think they quite taste like steak actually I think they do kind of have a steak flavor kind of a little steak flavor a little bit of steak flavor and then like a little bit of steak seasoning flavor that’s probably a mixture of the two a little steak seasoning yeah that’s good well folks we enjoyed this Campground it was a lot of fun I think it’s a recommendation for us it’s a nice Campground if you have if you have young kids and you like really really difficult trails to hike oh my gosh that trail was harsh and you can take the fact that it says 2 and a half miles and it’s really probably more like three or four it says 2.7 but it’s long it was yeah and we lost our audio equipment so if you notice a difference in our sound during one of those rough patches on that trail the receiver fell out yeah it did and I didn’t notice until until too late and we weren’t going back for it could not look for that thing so anyway we had a great time yeah that’s the end of our adventure now go enjoy yours

Those are called Farmers Market, I think. We have them in St. Petersburg and Tampa, that is a lot bigger. I'm from California, never saw these Farmers Markets till I c ame out here. I could buy fresh Collard, Mustard greens.
I used to live in Lancaster. I loved it.
Wow John must have been in traffic for hours . Love the channel 👍🏽

Y’all are adorable 🥰 😂
John – You needed A1 for the chip dip. Probably would have made all the difference.
Noticed your flag mount on the front–that's awesome! Everything I've seen is mount to ladder… Can you provide link?
Your video is so refreshing and positive! Thanks for sharing
Hoping your ankle recovers nicely! Great video!! 😊
What a cool market! Henry and I really need to venture north. The food looks so good!!
but if they had paving and trails it wouldn't be country…you all should try Buttonwood in Mifflintown pa . Also very very leery of ticks in pa this year. we are already treating our yard after husband has had 3 removed since start of may out working in yard and garden.
