Who is the designer of this train?
I did the same trip almost 3 years ago (January 2019), but from Sapporo to Hakodate, also I took the 6am train. Besides how trains works perfectly in Japan, travel trough Hokkaido during winter it’s a whole new thing. Waking around Sapporo, Otarubin the middle of the storm, the views from Goryukaku. Unforgettable

In Hokkaido, JR does not start trains until 06 00 , compared to 04 30 the Tokyo area, 04 45 in Osaka, 05 00 in Nagoya, and 05 00 in Kyushu. Because ridership is low and the winters are harsh.
