I don’t think a large chunk of people attending Dreamhack is there for Hololive as it’s more of a esports event. However, from what I been seeing, lots of people unaware what a vTuber is at venue became impressed from the performance and is now curious/interested in general. Imagine Nijisanji’s TV karaoke thing they got there at Dreamhack in front of a lot of uninitiated people, you’d probably get a riot.

So I was actually there, those tweets are CRAZY lol Firstly there were many Hololive fans who flew from Asia and other neighbouring countries to Dreamhack for Hololive. They probably come from a similar financial background to the nijisisters so idk where this is coming from. Secondly I’d say say the audience was 60% men 40% women, and I know plenty LGBTQ+ people (including myself!) who were there, and many were in the premium seating near the front.
This is just cope at its finest.
