This was a surprise. Covers cost a lot so for them to be funding a project to put one out every month in duos is a big step. Guess they backtracked on that "we are not idols statement". I am a bit worried how much, if any at all, of the cost of this is coming from the talents but this is step towards them supporting their talents more. What do you guys think?

AnyColour haven’t explicitly said anything in this announcement about directly funding this project.
To quote their page, this project is comprised of “collaborations between NIJISANJI EN Livers and music creators” and mentions nothing of company’s direct contribution.
It depends whether Livers wanted this and volunteered for it, vs being compelled to produce content they never intended to make. I think many of them wanted to do convention panels and chat/comedy events, typical streamer stuff. But not nearly so many of them had as much interest in singing and dancing, not in the past at least.
They aren’t gonna just start supporting the talents. This is a huge business. A Japanese huge business. In their eyes this isn’t their fault. They have no desire to fix how they run their business. There’s gonna be a catch. My guess is we see one of these, one of these guys gets wrapped up in controversy and we never see them again.
‘Supporting’ the talents? Oh, I wouldn’t take it like that. It’s more of an act of desperation if nothing else. They’re trying really hard to make it look like they care, but sadly that ship has sailed – or rather, that yacht has sunk.
I could be wrong, though – they could pull off a No Man’s Sky on this one (chances of that are pretty slim). Knowing Japanese culture, they’ll just dogeza and sweep it under the rug. It’s a culture tainted with Confucianism, so the idea of redemption and forgiveness isn’t so widespread there.
