Anycolor cooking the numbers lol. “We have high retention rate… But only if you exclude ID, IN, KR and EN and if you look at this specific timeframe”.
I did the math and if we calculate how many livers Nijisanji currently has vs how many it has had overall since the beginning it is a rate of ~75% (according to wiki current number of livers is 177. According to a Dexerto article listing all livers as per Feb 5, there are 58 graduated/terminated livers, for 60 in total including Selen and Kyo that weren’t counted in there, giving us 177/237 = ~75%).
Note this isn’t exactly the same metric as retention rate, but it was easier to calculate for the moment since it didn’t need to account for timing. I might at a later point, look at this in more detail.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. And even putting aside that 97% is not as good comparatively as you’d think from the absolute value, the state of mind to put that on the slides in the first place is interesting,

Note that they don’t even say it’s Nijisanji vtubers or our vtubers, simply domestic vtubers. They could be saying “The industry as a whole in Japan has a high vtuber retention rate.”

Ooof. That is the most cooked number ever.
“If we only count JP talent around in 2022, and only those that graduated THIS QUARTER…”
Fuck, just have it be the percentage of Vtubers named ______ who have graduated over the last 5 seconds if you’re gonna be that transparent.
