Good morning. Today, while I’m working all day in Asakusa, I’m going to eat around and eat in my free time. The first place I came to was this shop near Sensoji Temple. I will have breakfast at “Tokiwa Shokudō”. Inside the restaurant, locals spread out newspapers and stuffed their mouths with delicious-looking food.

Look at the menu. This is a restaurant where you can drink alcohol from the morning. I had the “tonsara set meal” with stir-fried pork and onions (1,280 yen). Tokiwa Shokudo family tree. It opened in 1922, so it’s over 100 years old. I’ve been waiting ♪ This is definitely delicious.

It smells so good…I guess this isn’t enough food. It is eaten sukiyaki-style, with meat dipped in beaten eggs. Yeah, it’s delicious. I love miso soup in the morning. Dip the pork in the egg. It’s sweet and salty and delicious. Pork with a lot of fat is irresistibly delicious…

I think I could eat several bowls of rice with just this. A luxurious meal in the morning will give you energy. The meat has a lot of flavor, so it’s delicious to eat as is. Vegetables are also delicious and go well with rice.

If you dip the pork in eggs and eat it sukiyaki style, it will instantly become more luxurious. Ah, it’s delicious… Even though there was still a lot of meat, I was running out of rice first. Add plenty of eggs and put it on rice… Small bowls are also delicious.

We had a delicious breakfast at a restaurant that is open from early morning. Well, I have a little more time so there’s one more place♪ What came was “Funawa Cafe”. This cafe is run by a Japanese sweets shop called Funawa, which is famous for its sweet potato yokan.

It has a completely different atmosphere from Funawa, which sells Japanese sweets. The interior gives the impression of a normal, calm cafe. This “Yakiimo Yokan Plate (715 yen)” and “Ankodama (88 yen)” are added separately. This looks like a delicious dessert♪ Matcha soft serve and sweet potato yokan are served with honey.

This is “Ankodama”. I ordered “red bean” and “white beans”. So what should we eat first? Enjoy the soft serve ice cream before it melts. Yes, it’s delicious♪ It has a refreshing taste. It has just the right amount of sweetness and might go well with baked sweet potato yokan.

Next, dip the roasted sweet potato yokan in the butter below… This is delicious. You can really feel the sweetness of the sweet potato. A slightly warm and comforting taste. The saltiness of the butter also brings out the sweetness. Yes, it’s delicious! Potatoes and honey go well too.

Bitter iced coffee tastes better when you eat something sweet. “Ankodama” is glossy. Oh, the sweetness of the red bean paste fills your mouth. Still, it’s not too sweet and doesn’t feel cloying.

When I bit into it, it was squishy and had a strange texture that I couldn’t believe was an anko ball. Anyway, I was able to eat delicious sweets in the morning. After that, I worked in the morning and it was time for lunch. Now, it’s time for a fun lunch.

First, let’s go to a store in Asakusa that caught my eye. This quaint shop is “Komakata Dojo”. At this restaurant, you can enjoy “Loach Nabe”, which has a history of about 200 years in Tokyo.

Founded in 1801, the interior of the shop has been around since the Edo period and has a great atmosphere. Guests sit cross-legged on tatami mats in the large hall. It’s so exciting to eat here. This time, I ordered the “loach hotpot”, rice, and raw egg. Everything other than the pot was brought first.

Raw egg. You can have as many green onions as you like. It’s here♪ This looks unusual. I wonder how many loaches are in there now. Now, before you eat it, let’s add some extra touches. If you pile the green onions high in a pot like this…

Wait until the green onions are soft before serving. Wait about 5 minutes while breaking it up a little. I guess I’m starting to feel better… You can also clearly see the loach’s whiskers. Now, let’s have it with rice! . This is probably the first time in my life that I’ve eaten loach.

Yes, it’s delicious♪ The soft and sweet-salty warishita also goes well with it. Is the taste similar to regular white fish? I can’t explain it well, but the body is plump. It has a good flavor and goes well with the rice.

Loach is quite soft and will stick to the bottom of the pot, so it will lose its shape easily. Therefore, I sometimes add warishita. This cooking method is similar to sukiyaki. Then I’ll dip it in eggs and eat it. Yeah, it’s delicious. Adding eggs will make the taste mellower.

I’ve heard that loaches have a smell, but this didn’t bother me at all. The loach also had quite a few small bones. Anyway, all the customers here look stylish. There was an old man eating silently by himself, and a group of office workers in suits.

And quite a few customers, including office workers, are drinking alcohol. I’m also at work, but I feel like drinking alcohol lol. Next time, I’d like to eat a little more slowly with alcohol. I left the restaurant after having my first dining experience. Okay, let’s go to the next store.

I think I’ll eat a little more. The next destination is a shop with that prominent signboard. This is a restaurant specializing in grilled spaghetti called “Spaghetti Stand Carbo”. I was curious about the signboard and came to check it out. The large volume seems to be a selling point as well.

After buying a meal ticket, I took a seat at the counter. I chose the store’s most popular item, “Calbo (small, 650 yen)”. It looks like normal spaghetti. I’ll have it right away. Ah, this is delicious. It’s chewy on the inside probably because it’s baked.

The surface of the noodles is crispy and has a mysterious texture. It’s not too oily and easy to eat. It has a rich, junky and addictive taste. This is a powder that has a texture similar to breadcrumbs and is used as a topping for spaghetti. It has more flavor and is also delicious.

This time it’s a small size, but it still weighs 200g. Apparently the large one is 600g, so please be careful when ordering lol. Finished the meal quickly. Thank you for the meal! Well, I was thinking of walking back to the hotel, but… I found this store while walking.

A shop called “Ramen ○”. The signboard says 330 yen. I was curious that I could eat at such a cheap price, so I went in. I bought a ticket and waited at the counter for about 5 minutes. It’s here! It looks delicious with lots of ingredients.

Since it was topped with an egg, the total cost was 440 yen. First, let’s start with the soup. Ah, it’s delicious… A simple soy sauce soup with chicken bones. It has a nostalgic and comforting taste. I’ll also have ramen. Delicious! The medium-thin curly noodles go well with the soup.

It has a taste that you won’t get tired of until the end, and I think it’s popular with locals. . There are plenty of toppings such as menma, seaweed, chashu, and bean sprouts. It’s a very satisfying ramen that you won’t believe is only 330 yen. The eggs are also rich and perfectly half-boiled.

It was a ramen that I wanted to finish off my drink♪. Ah, it was delicious…Thank you for the meal! . Well, after enjoying lunch time, I returned to the hotel and worked until night. Well, we’re looking forward to dinner♪ We’re going to eat a lot of different things.

The first thing I entered was “Saray Kebab”. This is a restaurant where you can eat kebabs, a popular Turkish dish. There are kebab stalls in various places, and you can eat them just about anywhere. When I passed by the store, I suddenly felt like eating, so I decided to try it.

For the menu, I decided to try rice for the first time in my life. A mix of beef and chicken. The sauce was also mixed, and the spiciness was medium spicy. And since it was evening, I also ordered a beer. Turkish beer called Efes (650 yen). Now, I’ll have a bite.

Yes, it’s delicious♪ Refreshing and easy to drink. The main kebab rice has also arrived♪ This sauce goes perfectly with rice. This is chicken. I’ll enjoy having this. Yes, it’s delicious♪ The thick sauce and tender chicken taste exactly like a kebab sandwich. The rice is just the right amount of spicy.

Spicy kebabs are best served with beer. The beef is also full of flavor. It’s finely cut and has a nice chewy texture. I haven’t eaten kebab for a while. It was also a new discovery that the beef was delicious.

There were other Turkish dishes that I was interested in, so I thought I’d go back to a nearby restaurant. Ah, it was delicious! Thank you for the meal. Now, let’s walk towards Sensoji Temple. Go to “Yoroiya Ramen”. This restaurant seems to be popular for its soy sauce ramen.

I also ordered the recommended gyoza (350 yen). I waited for about 5 minutes while looking around the store… I’ve been waiting! That’s beautiful ramen. I chose the “egg ramen” with rare twin yolks♪ (900 yen). Now, let’s start with the soup. It’s delicious…

It’s a delicious soup. The scent of yuzu inside is also nice. The noodles are also plump and delicious. It is said that eggs can be purchased by targeting the twin yolks. The chashu is quite thickly sliced. Ah, this is delicious…! .

The fat is delicious. It has just the right amount of elasticity and is satisfying to eat. This makes me want to eat more and more ramen without chashu as a side dish. And as I was slurping up my ramen… Gyoza also came. I use chicken and vermicelli.

It seems like the Japanese pepper salt goes well with it. It’s pretty big and seems to have a lot of volume. Now, I’ll add some Japanese pepper and salt. This is delicious too. The presence of meat in the gyoza is amazing. Although they are small, they are chewy and packed with flavor.

This is a restaurant where the meat in both the ramen and gyoza is delicious. We enjoyed the flavors of the popular restaurant. Completed the meal in no time. Thank you for the meal! . Well, next time I went to this shop that was right next door. “Oimoyasan Koshin”. We sell sweet potato sweets.

This is a store I happened to see… I was curious about the sweet potato and bought it without thinking (300 yen). Even so, I feel like I’ve been eating a lot of potatoes this time.

Since I was taking the sweet potatoes home, I put them in my bag and headed to the next shop. I came to “Kanoya” on Hoppy Street. This is a Monjayaki restaurant. As you walk around Asakusa, you’ll find monja shops everywhere. Monjayaki is a light meal similar to okonomiyaki.First, order a drink.

I ordered the “Original Vice Sour” from among the items listed as “Tokyo Specialties” (520 yen). There are many other dishes besides Monjayaki. Should I order something else like “Mentaiko Mochi Monja” (1,480 yen)? First up is Vice Sour♪. A refreshing visual. And I was surprised by the appetizer of squidfish.

Heat oil and grill on a griddle. It sounds good♪ It already looks delicious. While you wait for it to cook, you can enjoy Negitoro Takuan (880 yen). As you can imagine, it has a refreshing taste and is delicious. I think shiso doesn’t have that strong taste and is easy to drink.

It’s fun to drink alcohol while waiting for it to bake. I will also have green onion and radish. Yes, it’s delicious♪ A nice accent with plenty of cucumber. I feel like I can eat as much of this as I want. This also goes well with alcohol.

Once it’s cooked to a certain extent, cut it into pieces… Butter here. Also soy sauce. It smells so good♪ It’s piping hot so don’t get burned… Hmm, it’s delicious. The taste of the butter and soy sauce mixed with the plump squid is the best. Vice sour tastes even better.

The main dish, Monjayaki, has also arrived♪ However, monjayaki uses more water than okonomiyaki and is made differently. Monjayaki is said to have originated in Asakusa. In Tokyo, Tsukishima is a famous area for Monjayaki, and there are many shops. There are about 80 shops in Asakusa, and it has become a specialty of Tokyo.

Well, I guess it’s almost ready? . Complete! I’ll have it right away. A nice aroma wafts from the iron plate. Is it hot? Yes, it’s hot, but delicious♪ The salty mentaiko goes perfectly with the creamy batter. I feel like I can eat this forever. And cold sake goes well with hot food.

It instantly refreshes your mouth♪ It is recommended to add black pepper. It quickly transforms into a spicy flavor. This would also go well with beer. After that, we eat slowly with alcohol and “negi toro takuan”. The crispy charred rice grilled on an iron plate is also delicious.

I enjoyed eating it all the way to the end. Very satisfied! Thank you for the meal. Okay, let’s go to one last place. That’s why I came here. “Onigiri Asakusa Yadoroku”. It is said to be the oldest onigiri specialty store in Tokyo. I ordered two rice balls from among the rows of ingredients.

Let’s start with the “Ami” rice ball (270 yen). I also ordered miso soup (340 yen). First, let’s start with miso soup. It’s delicious…it melts into your stomach. We will also have rice balls. This is delicious too…the rice is fluffy. “Ami” refers to small shrimp, which are marinated in soy sauce.

It has a good texture and goes well with crispy seaweed and rice. The other is “truffle salt” (350 yen). 350 yen for salt rice balls is a luxury. This is delicious too. You can understand the sweetness of the rice even more. I also love salt rice balls.

When I was a child, every time the rice was cooked, I would have salt rice balls made for me. When I see salt rice balls, I want to eat them. It was a great way to end the day with delicious rice balls and miso soup. Thank you for the meal.

Ah, it was delicious! Thank you for the meal. After leaving the store, I took a leisurely walk to my inn. Stop by the convenience store too. On the way, I found this gorgeous tobacco shop. The showcase is full of unfamiliar brands. I don’t smoke, but I’m curious about matcha lattes.

After returning home, I did some work and went to bed early. I’ll have the sweet potatoes I bought yesterday for breakfast. Nicely grilled and smooth. Now, let’s have a sip. After all, sweet potatoes are delicious♪ The rich sweetness gradually spreads in your mouth.

Of all the potatoes, sweet potatoes are probably my favorite sweet. I finished it in no time, and my mouth was filled with happy sweetness. Well, that’s all for the Asakusa edition. There are many places in Tokyo that I don’t know about, and I had a lot of fun.

I’m thinking of eating a lot of different things by myself in Tokyo as well. I would be happy if you could take a look at it then. Souvenirs. Well, I also bought some souvenirs. I found this shop north of Sensoji Temple. “Kozakura Karinto”. This is a Karinto specialty store.

However, it’s not just any karinto, it’s one of the three major karinto in Tokyo. This time, it was a coincidence that I found it by chance. I decided to buy something that interested me. Karinto peppers are lined up in beautiful boxes. I made Karinto into a sachet containing these 7 types.

I like the bag as well. I would be happy if I received this as a souvenir. There are also a wide variety of flavors and colors. This seems to be ginger-flavored karinto. First up is the signature product, “Yumejikara.”

The scent that wafts in the air as soon as you open the bag is also nice. Ah, this is delicious! It has a gentle sweetness that makes you feel like you can eat as many as you want. It feels very high quality. Next, I’ll have the ginger that I was curious about.

As soon as you open the bag, you can smell the scent of ginger. Wow, amazing! It really tastes like ginger! I thought it was a shoppai, but it was actually sweet. It’s a bit spicy, and has such a strong presence that you’ll think you’re chewing it raw. This is also delicious.

Why did you decide to add ginger? If you are interested in Karinto, who has endless questions, please check it out. Please also see the next video!
