    What a beautiful scenery where the river gushes out fro under the bridge. Along line of cars patiently waiting to move, no aggro here. We like it. We like the paceful atmosphere.

    0:55 Some constellation is depicted on the pavement.
    Definitely it's not Big Dipper or the star cluster of Pleiades … Subaru in Japanese. But it could be the center part of Orion … only two branches are missing.

    April 19, 1958. My army buddy and I train JR up to Nikko for the day from Oji, Kita-ku, Tokyo. No Shinkansens in those days. A cool dry day, we arrive late morning. We walk from JR station up main street to TOSHOGU Shrine area. There are railroad tracks running up the middle of the street to the shrine area. But no trains of any kind on them. Tracks went left at shrine entrance. Purpose unknown. People not allowed on bridge across from shrine entrance in 1958.. We proceed up the entrance to arrive at main gate YOMEIMON. Same Samurai warriors sitting in gate as in your video. My memory says there were not as many smaller buildings as appear in your video. My old age??? After passing through the gate (and taking many photos) we tour inner buildings. The THREE MONKEYS building to the right (once inside of gate) was closed to visitors due to renovation work going on. After several hours in the shrine, we leave and walk or bus to a Funicular which was part of a journey to Lake Chuzenji using also a cable car to Kegon Falls and an elevator ride inside the mountain side up to the lake. These features do not appear to exist any longer. More later. We never got to Chuzenji Lake due to snow storm.
