Visiting a farm in Matsusaka, Japan, where some of the best (and expensive) beef in the world comes from.

Umas das melhores e mais caras carnes bovina do mundo vem de uma fazenda japonesa da cidade de Matsusaka.

The Japanese believethey diet means small portions and top-quality in fact they spend three times as much income on food as on housing allowing mats armors to take the art of beef production to new heights I’m a radical farm in Matsusaka and this may look like any

Ordinary cow shed but once you see the luxury lifestyle these cows live you’ll understand why this is the most expensive beef in the world meat is a relative newcomer to the Japanese diet as Buddhist law forbade the killing of four-legged animals but an imperial decree in 1873 put beef

Buckle in style this is the way to the kofta animals please cows have an awesome life they’re fed on apples and they’re get brushed daily and even get regular massages no wonder she looks so happy hello this cow is getting a nice bottle of beer and this is used to stimulate the

Animal to eat more so it gets nice and big you know you’re like a good snack after a few bits didn’t we okay I’m gonna give that the cow a little sake massage so first thing I do is take a swig of sake not that way to pass the day now this

Isn’t just for fun the SAP he is used for getting rid of ticks and fleas Cheers the result of all this pampering is a wonderfully marbled cut of beef exceptionally tender and $500 a pound beef just looks incredible one of the best ways to sample the beef is in a dish called sukiyaki

And varus is sugar so give a sprinkling of sugar and this is some wonderful dark soy sauce this rich love cooking at the table is a common one in Japanese cuisine verse is a tiny bit of dashi stock which has been made from seaweed seaweed dashi

Now in a minute the beat will be cooked and the sauce had been created by the soy and the sugar that’s in the pot was beginning to bubble away there nicely after the beef the vegetables should be braised in the sauce and dipped in beaten raw egg but I just can’t wait I

Don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about trying something in my life it’s almost undescribable delicious I can’t tell you how fantastic that is it’s possibly the most to meltingly tender meat I have ever tasted in my life literally its dissolved in my mouth Oh Masako arigatou said it’s so delicious thank you

  1. In America we have really tough beef because they go through stress and hardship throughout their life. Their muscles are really tense then they are slaughtered and they are fed with lots of corn to fatten them up fast.

  2. Awww I miss Discovery Travel & Living. Now the channel has turned into that garbage pile called TLC.

  3. English speaking people continue to mispronounce the word 'sukiyaki', which is totally understandable, given the way it's spelled. Just FYI, the pronunciation is closer to 'tskiyaki', the beginning t being barely enunciated and the rest of the syllable sounding like ski or skee. The yaki is right on the money~!

  4. sukiyaki, translation: boiling the beef…i mean my goodness what a fucking waste. You have the best beef in the world and you are fucking boiling it in soy sauce. It really rubs me the wrong way. And the dish also slices the beef paper thin….my goodness you cook tough cow parts that way, not kobe beef!!
