Today’s first meal is Japan’s famous Ebisoba (Shrimp ramen) It’s lunchtime, so there’s a long line. (Open from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m) Ebisoba Ichigen is a franchise, but they only have five branches in Japan. Two in Hokkaido and three in Tokyo.
They also have five branches in Hong Kong and two in Taiwan. Ebisoba is (ebi = shrimp), ramen with shrimp base soup. And surprisingly, there was shrimp onigiri! (You can’t resist ordering that, can you?) The price is very reasonable, only 170 yen.
They also have shrimp dumplings! It’s 380 yen for 6 pieces. (If you’re a shrimp lover like me, this ramen restaurant is a must-visit ) Choosing the broth can be a bit tricky because you can select from 9 different combinations
First, there’s a shrimp broth that allows you to savor the true taste of shrimp Second , this is a mixture of shrimp and pork bones. The third one is made with a little bit more pork bone soup to give it a nice, deep, blended flavor. It’s not over yet.
Once you’ve chosen your soup, you must choose the flavor you want to add (Miso, Salt, and Soy Sauce ) The price is 900 yen regardless of the soup choice. However, if you opt for extra noodles, it will cost an additional 120 yen
The preference for soup varies among individuals, but when it comes to enhancing the flavor, miso is most popular We chose shrimp soup and rich tonkotsu with shrimp soup . And we’ve added miso to each soup. And I ordered a shrimp onigiri and shrimp gyoza
For noodles, you can choose thick or thin noodles. (thin noodles for me no matter what ) FYI, we’ve been waiting outside for 30 minutes and inside for 20 minutes. (Those who are coming, it’s best to come on time for the opening hours.)
As some of you may have noticed, a good ramen restaurant always has a lot of celebrities’ autographs. Yes, it took me 50 minutes I finally sat down I really hate waiting like this in a restaurant on a trip but I love shrimp and I wanted to try it
To be honest, I’ve been to a Shinjuku shop in Ichigen many years ago, but I didn’t really think it was that good. However, a Japanese friend told me that Shinjuku’s Ichigen and here have completely different flavors, so I came to check it out. Shrimp gyoza !!
Finally !!we got the ramen ! And my first time to try shrimp onigiri !! I can’t wait to see how it tastes. My friend was right !! This is the best ramen… It’s the same franchise, but completely different from the Ichigen I had in Shinjuku.
You can also add pepper and minced garlic to suit your taste. Enjoying a delicious and satisfying meal, the total came to 2,470 yen. It was so good that I almost felt guilty! Niina says it’s the best ramen she’s ever had. After a full stomach, I decided to take a walk for exercise.
Then we found the Sapporo shopping street. I found the arcade! Once you’re in Japan, you’ve got to try the claw machines, right? Wow! there’s quite a few of them. Well, can this guy make it? Oh…. Look at this guy ! That’s unbelievable. He hasn’t done that for a year or two.
Oh !! Sorry for your loss .. It’s kind of fun to watch other people do it. It’s not easy .. I missed the big moment, but he made it. I think this was in the 90s, but its still here. It’s amazing. this seems a dancing game
And suddenly, my challenge began. I’d rather to watch than playing this lol It’s starting to get a little stressful. Niina seems to be getting stressed too. Haha Well, I can’t give up. Finally !! But the joy was short-lived. This is a seriously cheap quality.
It took five tries. It’s too cheap quality for 500 yen, but think of it as a memory, not a doll 🙂 I came out and it’s snowing like crazy. And we got here !
I haven’t been to a Japanese McDonald’s in a while. When I was a student in Japan, I used to come here a lot. This is the view from the second floor. Niina ordered a latte and I ordered a shrimp burger.( another shrimp? Lol )
I had a shrimp burger in Japan for the first time in my life, and I was so surprised by how good it was. But it’s disappointing to me that there’s less shrimp than there used to be.
Like the Sapporo Tower that looks different during the day and night, the scenery remains the same as 17 years ago, yet it feels so different. What’s different from that time is the fact that I’ve aged since then, and… And I am not alone anymore 🙂
After a long walk, we’re here at the Sapporo Kaitakushi beer brewery tour hall In fact, I came to Sapporo Factory, and right in front of it, there’s theSapporo Kaitakushi beer brewery tour hall. So we are here now ^^ This was an actual brewery, the first brewery in Japan.
Originally, tasting beer was available on the first floor, but due to the impact of COVID it seems they weren’t open. (on Google, it said they are temporarily closed.) If you go up these stairs and walk to the right, you’ll find a passageway that connects to Sapporo Factory.
We are inside the Sapporo Factory now I tried to go up to the upper floor for a better view, but Niina asked me why I’m not taking the escalator. All of sudden niina suggested me to have a little race to see who would get there first. ( stairs vs escalators )
I didn’t know she ran like this, but actually, I just slowly climbed the stairs. Where would I be? Yes, I’ve already come up and I’m currently filming the third video haha. That’s the third video. And this is the second video. Yes, this is the Sapporo Factory.
Sapporo factory is a shopping complex built in 1993. In 2006, in an era without smartphones, I randomly came here after seeing a picture of this place in a travel book. And now, after 17 years, here I am, looking at this view again.
It’s amazing to think how I traveled back then without internet, unable to speak Japanese or English. But maybe that’s when we were able to focus on traveling more than we are now
Of course, you had to go where the book told you to go, but it didn’t tell you everything, so sometimes you had to ask people. If it were now, I would have immediately searched on my smartphone, right?
But because of that inconvenience, I was able to interact more with people, and I think it made the trip more fun. I don’t think convenience leads to happiness. We’re having dinner at an izakaya.
Alcohol is the main part of an izakaya, but you can eat a variety of foods from rice to noodles to soup, so I like eating at izakaya more than at regular restaurants. Hyakuya There are many izakayas, but I chose this one for a reason.
There is a room with dividers for each table so that you can enjoy food and drinks in a more comfortable way. This is where we keep our shoes. On both sides of each table, there are dividers and doors.
Although we are in a four-seat area, the dividers can be removed, allowing reservations for up to 50 people. When I first came to Japan, what surprised me was that for a certain amount of money added, you could have unlimited refills of drinks.
There are so many Japanese-style cocktails that it’s fun to drink. This system goes up to as short as 60 minutes and as long as 120 minutes.
The place is 1200 yen per 100 minutes, but if you pay another 200 ~ 400 yen, you can get an unlimited various draft beeras well. It depends on the time and the type of alcohol, but the average is about 1,500 yen in 90 minutes.
The advantage is that you can drink a lot, but the downside is that if you can’t drink quickly, you might end up not getting your money’s worth. I have to order on the touch screen, but unfortunately, it supports only japanese.
But these days, you can easily translate it into a smartphone and order. In Japan, you probably know that even if you don’t order, a side dish called “otōoshi” (also known as sitting fee) comes out, typically around 300 yen. Since you’re in Sapporo, it’s a must to have Sapporo draft beer!
And I order all the foods that I like and that I think are delicious. I ordered a sweet cocktail for Niina-chan. We didn’t forget to order chicken, which goes well with beer. Another reason I like izakayas is that you can try various Japanese dishes in small amounts
For those who want to try various Japanese dishes even if they can’t eat a lot, I recommend having a meal at an izakaya. Every single dish was delicious. I’ll definitely come back here next time. I’m hurrying to my next destination. This is the sapporo tv tower observation deck
As expected, Tokyo Tower!! Magnificent! (Tokyo Tower’s height is 333 meters.) I’ve seen the Sapporo TV Tower from the outside many times, but this is the first time I’ve actually been inside it. They open until 10:00 PM, and if it’s 10 minutes before, they stop selling tickets. It’s 1,000 yen per adult.
The Sapporo tv Tower was completed in 1957 (Sapporo tv Tower’s height is 147 meters.) In the early days, there were few high-rise buildings, and there was no facility to see the entire Sapporo city at a glance,
So it was common to wait for hours to go up to the observation deck. But now, with many high-rise buildings, it’s not as popular as before, but still many tourists visit. The daytime view is also really impressive.
Also, you can purchase a day and night ticket (once during the day and once at night, ) so if you have time, it’s a good idea to visit both times. By the way, you can film a video, but you can’t use the tripod.
Hold on for a moment. There’s a hidden video coming up, lol When you come down from the observation deck, there is a souvenir shop. They sell Various souvenirs, but I decided to buy a limited-edition Hokkaido alcohol as a souvenir. A cocktail made with Hokkaido milk! A cocktail with Hokkaido melon!
Finally, a whiskey soda made with “Nikka Whisky,” representing Hokkaido This is the whiskey! Continuing from the Sapporo TV Tower is Sapporo’s symbol, the Sapporo Clock Tower. And this is the Sapporo TV Tower, which we were on earlier. Are you ready?
