We took the overnight ferry from Busan, South Korea to Osaka Japan. We knew we wanted to maximize our time here so we picked a hostel right in between Osaka and Kyoto so we could easily access both cities! There are lots of blogs online about which place is better to visit and honestly they both offer completely different things! If you are looking for traditional Japanese culture with temples and hikes, then Kyoto is your place! If you are looking for shopping and seaside then Osaka is better!

We’re back in Japan we just got off the ferry now we’re taking the metro into town to get some Ramen cuz it’s been like 20 hours since we’ve had Ramen so if you watched any of our other videos uh you might know that we’ve already been to Japan we came here in February of this year actually uh to ski in hakaba and I think that was the first time either of us had probably like real Japanese ramen and we’re obsessed with

What we’re doing tomorrow all right it’s our second day in Osaka spent most of the morning just laying around uh and then we left in the afternoon to come downtown and do a little Christmas shopping which didn’t go quite as planned but now we’re going to go to the
Uh Osaka castle where they’re doing uh Christmas lights and Christmas tree lighting yeah it’s the they call it the Christmas illumin or holiday illumination something like that it’s like 10 bucks so one of the few things that we spend money on we love Christmas lights what can we say Alan claims

I’m going to get churos no Gold Vine no I don’t see any Gold Vine the turos actually aren’t very good well the lights are great let’s go walk through That He Technically this elimination event is like of a bunch of different sites and things to do in Osaka and we went to this Tower last night this is just as much fun as I thought it was going to be all right should we go get some Ramen yeah you get off First good morning it’s our last day in h Osaka and we head to Tokyo tomorrow so I think we’re going to head to Kyoto today yeah and it is very cold it’s super cold it makes us wonder why we came here to be in cold weather yeah we were like
It’ll feel more like Christmas we really aren’t packed for this no it’s just cold it doesn’t feel like Christmas but we’re hoping to hit a couple of the main sites in Kyoto today one of them being the bamboo forest and then a couple of temples but first on the list is lunch
Yeah I’m hungry yeah probably Ramen yeah you know you’re only in Japan so often you got to soak up that local Cuisine after multiple trains and subway transfers we have finally made it to arama which is an area in Kyoto um we’re going to start by going to tenrai Temple and then we’re going to walk through a bamboo forest and then we get to head to an observation deck over a River Canyon
It was very busy and very cold yes both those things are True so we’re walking around The Gardens of the temple now and you could skip the temple Al together but it was only three bucks and definitely worth it it’s so Serene and here and the gardens are Beautiful these flowers M it smells really good I thought I wouldn’t be able to of my runny nose in the cold I see the bamboo forest in front of Us this is the free part and as you tell is packed yeah if they made you pay $3 for this maybe it’d be worth it cuz be a little calmer but it is beautiful I understand why people come visit we’re trying to make our way to the observation deck we’re not exactly sure
Which way it is no I’m like zooming in on Google Maps trying to find the trail cuz it doesn’t actually take you there we are heading back to the train station and across town like I really picked the two sites that are farthest away from each other to Fushimi andari shine which
Is known for its red gates and they’re supposed to be lit up all night so I’m really excited we’re going to go after dark I think just got off the train and we’re at the main gate of fimi anari which is a shrine here in Kyoto and there’s a lower Shrine which we’re
Heading towards now and then it’s a 3em hike if you do the full round trip to the upper Shrine as it’s Sunset already we will probably just kind of um go a little ways and turn around before dinner so let’s go so we’re just walking into the lower
Temple so way here is reading and this Shrine is for the God anari and anari is the god of harvest and business and it the messenger for anari is a fox so there’s all these statues of foxes around the Shrine all of these gates are donated and so you see one side will show written who’s donated it and the other side I’ll have the date that they donated it On We’re finishing up at the temple we’re going to hop back on a train to Kyoto get something to eat for dinner and then we’re pretty cold so we will make the many train hops back to our Airbnb near Osaka all right we just killed like 8 hours in a
Starbucks now we’re heading to the bus stop and we’re going to Tokyo on an overnight bus they have a bullet train but it is far more expensive than the bus we we haven’t been on an overnight bus since like what did we say maybe Thailand yeah
They suck every time I’m sure this one will be no different yeah they never get any better
