When it comes to 80s Japanese sports/hatches, Not one other car oozes cool like this EF9 SIR

The keyword of the day being SIR, with its array of motorsports inspired components, ice cold white paint, with the signature red hints, this model really stated the long line of enthusiasts civics, and what a run of cars it started.

Imported to the UK in 2018 has seen a no expense spared refresh, all the original running gear, subframes, arms, linkages all stripped back and painted like new, The original body has never been welded, the OG bronze glass gives it a look so retrospective of Japan.

The car originally shipped with a b16, however now its retrofitted with a b18c6 supplemented with a hard to find Jackson racing supercharger, aem fuel rail/regulator, 4.2 snout pulley, skunk2 alpha TB, 550cc injectors, hondata s300v4, ek9 shafts all around and mocal oil cooler to keep the temps in line.

Keeping the SIR glued to the road are a set of SSR Type c’s wrapped in some sticky nankang ns2r, which house the uprated spoon twinblock calipers which compliment the wheels with an extra pinch of spoon jdm goodness.

The front of the car is adorned with a J’s racing spoiler, rarity honda access fog lamps, a charge speed rear spoiler, access wind visors & sunroof visor, and a very kanjo inspired headlight delete for that cold air intake just hiding behind.

The interior has been updated slightly with some Recaro’s found in an evo 3, a momo steering wheel and drawing your eyes to the center is a k tuned cnc shifter.

Overall this originally was released as a way of putting state of the art motorsport technology into the hands of the common man, this spirit of going fast, yet remaining obtainable by the aspiring motor/street racers in Japan really gives this car a relatable and easy to love spirit.
